Can not play flight simulator says d3drm.dll is not in vista

Is your game old? d3drm.dll is related to Direct 3D retained mode which is part of Microsoft's DirectX API, Direct 3D is very old (1997) and has been removed from Window's Vista, therefor creating the incompatability.

d3drm.dll as I have come to understand, was implemented in Windows XP, if you have a copy or know someone who uses XP you could try looking through :windowssystem32 folder for the d3drm.dll file and copying it to your own system32 directory.
If you don't have access to XP at all you could also try this link
http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files_new.php/dllfiles/D/d3drm.dll/5.1.2600.0/download.html
You may wish to take precautions before downloading as downloads from an unknown site can always be risky.

If you have a copy of Windows XP, but you don't feel like messing with Vista's system directory or copying it didn't work, you could always try virtualization. Running a virtual copy of Windows XP along side Vista would allow you to run older games while running Vista.

Virtual Box is free and in my opion, easy to use virtualization software, you could try that or you could try vmware but that costs money.

How to find an aeroplane game???

Solution: Try Flight Simulator X for FREE and buy the full version if your happy with it. This game is probably the most graphic intensive flight simulator out there in the market except for Tom Clancy's HAWX (a military jet fighter game which has even better graphics). Hope I helped - donman92

How to install new hard drive

2 choices for you. Get the external to run the game or 2. Add a larger hdd to the system as a slave drive leaving the smaller drive as the master. If you go the 2nd route just make sure you buy a compatible hdd. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer.

Hi when i go into some home pages anmd wish to look up flights etc the acrobat reader shows a fault and reads ACROBAT FAILS TO LOAD ITS CORE DLL.this peoblem then locks up the computer and i have no option...

Hi harrty,

I think your Adobe Acrobat is corrupted, you may have to uninstall it from the Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel or Programs and Features in the Control Panel in Vista. Then afterwards reinstall the application from the ADOBE website. The link is:

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html?promoid=BUIGO (this for Windows XP)

http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2_allversions.html (this is for Vista)

Most likely the problem will be resolved after doing this. Try it out first.

Hope this helps!

Peace! :)

I've installed Flight Simulator Deluxe to my new computer - a Dell Inspiron 530s that has all the system requirements for it. However, when I try to access the simulator, it appears to load by indicating...

This process does take a long time. From experiance I have the game also. It takes like 3-4 minutes for it to load for me. What I can suggest is trying to reinstall it. If that doesn't work im at a loss sorry bud.

D3drm

You can download a replacement file here:

http://www.dllbank.com/d/d3drm.dll-download.html

Make sure you note the path of where the file belongs, this way you can save it in the right directory.

Afterwards, just reboot your machine and you're done!

Hope this helps...

Lego Island

Older programs will sometimes not work with Vista. This is likely the reason that Lego Island 2 (a 2001 game) will work a opposed to Lego Island (a 1997 game). There are a few things that you can try, though:
  1. Right click the 'play game' icon and select 'Properties'
  2. Click the 'Compatibility' tab at the top of the window
  3. Click the 'Run this program in compatibility mode for:' box and select Windows XP or Windows 98/Window ME (you can try another later if one doesn't work)
  4. Make sure that the 'Run this program as an administrator' box is selected.
  5. Click 'OK' and close the window
Give the icon the good ol' double click and see if she works. There's no guarantees that this will work with Vista since it is an older program, but this is where I would start.

I hope this helps!
