I have the same problem and its not the caps.

Has anyone fixed this item yet?

by what you are describing it is not powering correctley please try alternative monitor to confirm video signal if you can if you get signal then your power supply in the monitor is a switched mode supply (normal) and part of this has failed. yes it is possibly fixable depending on how much you would like to spend without seeing it could not tell you, kep me informed

I just repaired my LCM 19W4. My symptoms were a little different; the light was not on or blinking like yours. I replaced two bad capacitors today (220 uF 25V High Temp) So far so good. Bad caps can be easy to identify; they are slightly bulging at the top. Soldering can be very tricky though. But just like plodder said, make sure it's the monitor that's bad and not something else by hooking up a known working monitor first.

Vsonic flat screen monitor need blink codes

hi do you mean you are asking for the blinking codes on your viewsonic pc monitor?. usually lcd monitor for pc has no blinking codes, if your monitor just only a blinking indicator and won't turn on, you must check first the source from your pc if their is a signal to turn on the monitor. if just blinking only then won't turn on you must check the power supply of the monitor usually the main cause is bulging capacitor. just replace it with the same value and rating thanks for consulting the fixya good luck.

Hello sir, i hav LG CRT 15" monitor. After turning on, its LED continuous blinks and power button does not work and displays nothing. so plz suggest me what should be deffect?

Any 15-inch CRT-style monitor should be replaced by a 15-inch or 17-inch LCD-style monitor. You can find "previously-owned" monitors for $30 to $50, which is less than taking your CRT monitor to a TV/video repair-shop for an *attempt* to get it repaired.

No sound on 17 inch LCD Monitor , Model LCm 17v2

Does the monitor have speakers?
Are they active (check that in the menu)?
Is their volume high enough (or it could be muted)?
Are the audio cables plugged in firmly both in the monitor and pc connectors?
Are they recognized as connected by the pc (check that in the Control Panel / Sounds or in the audio device config window)?
Is the pc volume high enough (or muted)?

You either have a hardware problem with your video card. ( may have pop out of socket when you plug in the monitor) or the cable is not allow communication to the monitor. As long as the amber light comes on you know you have power so focud on data cables and hardware.

Westinghouse monitor model lcm 19w4. Screen keeps going black and you have to turn it off then back on to get screen back. Sometimes screen will work properly for hours, but sometimes keeps happening...

This looks like a power supply problem, due to internal
over heating. When it cools down, the power supply turns
back on, or an "over current/ thermal" protection circuit
trips. Shutting of the monitor off resets it, and then it trips
again.

I had an old Samsung 19" with an identical problem.
(see my other post)

Mine was caused by a leaky capacitor, but every
monitor is different. (I have considerable knowledge of
electronics, as well as a degree in engineering, so
I was able to fix it, but I would not recommend this to
a non-tech person.)

The 19w4 seems to be a fairly new wide format monitor,
probably still under warranty. I would take it back to the
store on a busy Saturday afternoon and scream blue
murder.

There is absolutely nothing you could have done to cause
this problem, nor is it normal wear and tare.

It is the result of sub-standard manufacture, and you have
every reason to take it back. Your case is stronger if
you don't try to open it.

Good luck, Martin.

Monitor not coming up

try unplugging the monitor cable from the computer and check if you get a power on self test displayed
if yes then the monitor is fine we have to troubleshoot the computer
and if nothing is displayed the monitor needs to be replaced.
