Same problem. Couldnt open picture package due to error that stated I need to install Macromedia Flash Player first. The title of the error box is SonyPotl. Flash has been installed on my PC all along, but I updated the latest version anyway. Then from another message board advice, I updated the picture package menu from the Sony website at http://www.ppackage.com/e/index.html as per Sony recommendation to fix this problem. Now I get this whole new error and nothing on the internet has any reference as to what this is. My email is Alicatz2@hotmail.com, my product is Sony DCRDVD405.

SOURCE: Macromedia Flash

I am wrting in regards to my Sony Handycam DCR-HC36. I am having problems with the Picture Package software when I try to load my video. When I try to transfer my videos (from my Handycam) to my Pesonal Computer, the picture package(software) menu does not appear on my PC(The picture package software is already installed).

Everytime I try to click on the Picture Package Icon on my desktop, there is a pop-up that says I "must install Macromedia Flash Player for Application to continue".

I went ahead and installed the Adobe (Macromedia) Flash Player and it still doesn't work when I try to click on the Picture Package Icon. The pop-up still comes up. I also, re-installed some of the requirements for the for the camera to work such as Direct X and Windows Media Player.

I also enabled my Javascript(active Script).

The problem is most likely within my PC(maybe I'm missing another type of software???), what do you think are my options in resolving this matter?

Please help me out

Hi there!
There can be several reasons why you are getting this error message. First, make sure that your user account is an administrator account. If you are sure that your account is an admin, follow this steps:
1. Choose Run from the Start menu. type %Temp% and click OK. delete all files inside the temp directory 3. Click again on run from start menu. Type cmd and hit Enter. 3. Drag iTunesSetup.exe from the Desktop into the C:\\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe window. 4. Add a space and then this text: /extract %TEMP% 5. Press return/enter. This will extract three Windows installer packages into your TEMP directory. 6. Navigate back to your TEMP directory. 7. Launch the AppleSoftwareUpdate Windows Installer Package. Complete the installation. 8. Launch the QuickTime Windows Installer Package. Complete the installation. 9. Launch the iTunes Windows Installer Package. Complete the installation.
Please reply if this will not fix the problem. Cheers!

Hi there...
If you use Microsoft Windows based computer, logging off is very easy..
1. Go to Start menu (Its a button saying ' Start ' on it. And it locates Most commonly at lower left of screen) and click it.
On Clicking, it will pop open showing contents of start menu
You may have start menu look like one of these.. (Assuming that you uses Windows OS)

2. Follow either A / B / C option corresponding to your start menu appearance. If Your Start Menu Looks like Option_A, then follow its instructions. So do others
