WRT300N password lost reset? no software

Hello i have a linksys WRT300N and i have forgotten the password i would really appreciate if u could help me out i dont have anymore the software to install it or the manual i lost them what do u think i should do if i reset it can i put a new password or will people be able to get into my bank account? etc? please email me diegosanchez75@hotmail.com asap the password is not admin coz it was one that i made or could u give me the addresse where can i free download the software

Reser the password by turning of and pressing small button inside the hole provided at the back of the router for 10 sec
Then u can use default password which is there in the manual

Hi,

Reset the router as factory setting,after words you can change the password OR Just try the user name ---root & password is password.

Am using Linksys WRT300N v1.1 wireless router but all LEd are glowing except power led. and i am unable to connect through wired ethernet ports and also wireless is not working.


Try to reset the configuration of your router from the reset button and try that you getting the console with its default username and password.

I have lost my password. How can I reset the router or find out what my password was. A friend set this up several years ago and I have no idea what to do. My friend passed away and I can not ask them...


Hello and welcome to fixya.

The solution for this can be found here (check posts 1,2 and 4 which can be helpful) - They suggest to press the orange reset button and hold until all the LEDs of the router start blinking at the same time.

Solution 1.

How can I reset the Linksys WRT300N to factory defaults?
Hold the Reset button on the Linksys WRT300N for about 30 seconds.

What is the IP Address, Username and Password to log in to the WRT300N?
IP Address: 192.168.1.1
Username: none
Password: admin

You should also know the configuration of your ISP provider after reset. You'll need to re configure your connection from modem to router.

Solution 2

How do I upgrade the Firmware on the Linksys WRT300N?
# 192.168.1.1 -> Administration tab -> Firmware Upgrade sub-tab. Click "Browse" and browse to the firmware upgrade file on your computer. Click "Start to Upgrade". Do not reset or power cycle unit while it is upgrading.

hold down the reset button for 20 seconds, then the network name should change also so do a rescan

unplug your router and do a reset on it push the button for at least 20- 30 seconds and it should reset to the factory default the password should by admin the user name is either admin or just left blank
