the monitor won't detect the computer. I turn it on but the monitor still says, 'No Input Signal.' Now I know it's not the monitor because I connected it too another computer and it works fine. how do I fix my computer? Its only about a year old so I don't want to have to gert rid of it as yet..

I also have this problem. although when the screen goes blank, the keyboard also locks up. As if the sys is in hibernation.

If your pc has been purchased within the last year--even refurbished, it is worth going back to the dealer to request replacement of the mother board due to the capacitor issue. EPC stood behind their equipment with a little nudging on my part--I pick it up today with no charges. It was a refurbed unit out of warranty for 6 months.

It sounds like a Power supply issue. Get with Dell and setup to have the part replaced

This problem is caused by bad capacitors on the motherboard. I have just replaced mine, and the problem is solved. Photos of the capacitors & kits can be seen at these sites....

Hi,

Check to see if your monitor is connected to your system. if it is then there may be a problem with your video adapter.

Please rate me. Thank You.

if you look in the end of the chord that is attached to your system unit there may be pins that are bent so u may have to straighten them to fix them.

Blank screen, error code;0f00c.

The error you appear to be getting during diagnostics should not be related to the computer not starting. The error you are referencing has to do with a blank CD not being in the CD/DVD drive during that part of the test.
I ran the diagnostics again with a blank cd in the drive and I recieved error code 1000-0146.

Black blank screen Lenovo 3000 N100

You say the laptop all of a sudden flashed off.

How old is the laptop? You may have suffered one of two things? First of all, if the hard drive will not boot back up, even after using the recovery discs, then that would explain it powering off. I have seen this happen on old desktop hard drives.

Next, try to get the transformer or adapter tested. It may not be putting out enough amperage to run the laptop.
