Kenmore dryer Model #6507923 Gas sometimes won't


You may have a bad thermocouple. The thermocouple senses the heat from the flame and "tells" the control unit that the flame has lit. If it is sending no signal, the control will think it didn't light and shut off the gas to prevent an explosion. Good luck.

The thermocouple may be going bad. The thermocouple is what "tells" the control unit that there is a flame. If it doesn't send it's signal, the control thinks the flame went out and shuts off the gas to prevent an explosion.

Dryer does not heat up. tumbler does work.


Gas or electric dryer? If it is electric the heating element may be bad or a thermal limit switch near the heating element may be defective. Is the outside vent plugged?

I have a Kenmore 70 Series gas dryer, model 76712691. The dryer has 3 plastic ''tumblers'' inside the dryer, to help the clothes tumble. Two of the tumblers have fallen off inside, leaving big holes inside...


Pull the dryer away from the wall, there is no bottom on the dryer, so the screws should be on the floor.
You can then pop the lid up from the front and fold it back. When you do, you will see the drum. Roll the drum around until you see the holes and reattach the tumblers.
You can also access the drum from below. Tip the dryer on its back and you can see the drum from the bottom.

You may have had a wheel lock up on the dryer. This could cause the belt to break. Is the drum hard to turn? Is this a gas dryer? use this PAGE as a guide to help you get into the dryer and a lot more

soulnds like the belt pooped, or broke, remove top you should see the belt wrapped around the drum, if not you need a new one

Changing tumbler belt on a Kenmore gas dryer


you have to unscrew the screws in the lent trap and pull up on the top piece it has platic snaps the pop up then unscrew the front two on the front piece then the tumbler will pop out thats it.
