Using belkin f5d7051 and getting wlancfgg.exe error message

There are problems with the Belkin site. It may even be that someone has sabotaged it. I had problems using the Belkin drivers and discovered that two of the files (I needed version 2 files for my Wireless Adapter) were actually version 1 files and I found the correct files (all the same names, but different sizes) on the Drivers Guide site (do not download their download helper file - it messes up your computer and takes a lot of work to get rid of it). Also, searching for the drivers is made more difficult because one of them is actually misspelled on the Belkin site. Sorry I did not keep notes about which one I found.

My computer crashed and i restored it. I cannot access the internet. I have a Belkin 802.11g wireless PCI Adapter and the software for the adapter is on my computer but I can't adjust any of the settings...

Please go to command promplt and type ipconfig. You should be getting an ip address as 192.168.1.x and Default Gateway 192.168.1.1 .
Try to ping 192.168.1.1 from your command prompt
If you are getting responce means you are connected to the Belkin wireless Router.
If not then try power cycling the Belkin router once.
If that also not working then you may have to go for a driver update.

How do I install my Belkin F5D7051 wireless adapter without the installation CD?

To install the adapter you will definately need a disc. because the adapter will not work without the Drivers. Drivers are very important for the adapter. One more thing that if you have WIN XP or VISTA then you don't need the set up utility but still you need the drivers for the adapter.
If you do not have the disc. You can download the drivers from the manufacturer's web site and install the drivers for your adapter.
