Whirlpool clean touch top loading washer suddenly makes very loud noise. Pump works but agitator and drum won't spin. Also seems like oil leaked out of motor. I'm thinking motor seized.

If you found oil underneath it, then you have a broken transmission case, or a bad seal. The electric motor does not contain oil. This should be something that yuo can confirm visually.

Leaks from underneath

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
Drain Pump If the washer is leaking water the drain pump might have a hole or crack. Or, the bearings might be worn out. Replace the drain pump if it is leaking water, they're not repairable.

Tub Seal and Bearing Kit If the washer is leaking water the tub seal and bearing might have a tear or rip and is letting water leak past. The tub seal and bearing can be replaced. This is common and relatively easy to replace.
Tub Seal Kit If the washer is leaking water the tub seal might have a tear or rip and is letting water leak past. The tub seal kit can be replaced. This is common and relatively easy to replace.

Tub Spin Seal If the washer is leaking water the tub spin seal might have a tear or rip and is letting water leak past. The tub spin seal can be replaced. This is common and relatively easy to replace.
Tub Seal If the washer is leaking water the tub seal might have a tear or rip and is letting water leak past. The tub seal can be replaced. This is common and relatively easy to replace.

Tub to Pump Hose If the washer is leaking water the hose from the tub to the pump might be split or torn. Don't try to cut off the bad piece of hose and stretch it to fit the pump, this will put strain on the remainder of the hose and may cause a sudden and complete failure of the hose which will dump potentially hundreds or thousands of gallons of water onto the floor because the next time the washer tries to fill all of the water will end up on the floor and so the washer will never shut off the valve. Any time there is a damaged hose, replace it completely with the OEM part.

Washing Machine Fill Hose If the washer is leaking water, check the fill hoses on the back of the washer, this is the most common place for water to leak. If the washer still has the original black rubber fill hoses replace them with stainless steel or some other, more durable hose.

Drain Hose If the washer is leaking water check the drain hose. The most common places for the hose to spring a leak is from the connection to the pump out to the back of the washer. Another common occurrence is when the washer gets pushed too far back against the wall.

Washer leaks during fill up from underneath

It is going to either be the tub hose that goes to the pump or the pump itself. If both of these are ok then you would need to replace the tub seal. To replace the center tub seal you remove the tub and motor from the washer by getting the 2 springs off there and taking the hoses off. Unplug the motor harness and the whole thing comes out. Here it some photos of how it all goes down.

My washer is leaking from underneath the machine. What is the cause?

It could be a few things, a hosehas a hole in it, the water pump is leaking , or the cenbter seal on the transmission is leaking. Best way to check is to put some water in it, have someone help you lean it back and look underneath to locate the leak. If the water is leaking only in the agitate cycle and not as its filling then its your center seal.

I have a f&p Smartdrive 708 washer that is leaking water underneath the machine. It is only a small leak at the moment. Could the seals be worn out?

Hi you need to identify where the water is coming from three main places are 1: pump seal 2: a hole in the drain hose 3: Main bowl seal my advice is turn it off at the wall lean it over and have a look underneath and clean floor area. does the base of the main motor look clean if yes its probably not the main bowl seal. So its down to the last two if your models got the plastic removable cover on the front its easy to remove it and watch where the water is leaking from my "guess" is a pump seal you will see it drip/ splash of the pump fan during drain/ spin cycle Be very careful to turn off at wall as there is voltage around these things even when power is off at the machine panel

Leaking whirlpool washer

Probably the pump seal - you need to replace the pump, which is located at the front.

Water leaks from washer after rinse or draining

Hello, the most likely cause is the pump. Whirlpool's and Kenmore's are direct drive machines which means they do not have a belt. The pump is hooked up directly to the motor. To confirm this is the pump tip the machine back so that you can access it underneath. Make sure you wedge something underneath so it does not fall on you. Next take a look where the pump joins onto the motor shaft, this is where you will find the leak. This pump is a sealed unit so you will have to replace the whole pump. You can do this by removing the inlet and outlet pipes. Next with a screwdriver release the 2 clips holding the pump and remove the pump.....reassemble with new pump in reverse order. Good Luck!! If you have any further question's please feel free to comment. Mike

Washer leaking when filling up tub

Unlikely to be pump, sounds more like hose leaking, or drum seal.
Depending upon severity of leak, place a sheet of newspaper under front of m/c, pushing it as far back as you can. switch m/c on for a few secs, then switch off, remove paper and you should be able to judge where leak is.
Tilt m/c back and have a look underneath.
At 12 years old, if it looks major, I think I would replace m/c.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Hiya........... have a good look at the door seal for any visible tears... do it with wet hands... and the electric off!! If you cant see anything... Have a look at the pump couplings.. for any visible signs if leaking!
