If it's usb use that.. if it's 9-pin use that. your windows should install the right driver automatic.

My Logitech Medialife mouse will suddenly stop in its ability to move the cursor; and when it happens, the Touchpad also will become inoperable. Which leaves me with only one option: shut down my PC...

Can you notice if the mouse stops when using a certain program or while you've been on the pc for a length of time. When hardware stops it could be conflicts with other programs, a driver issue, battery. If your mouse worked without problems not long ago I'd first try a system restore back to the time when it worked. To do a restore click on programs, accessories, system tools and the system restore. Pick a day on the calendar before when the mouse was working and let the pc restore back to that time. It will restart then see if it works for you.
Thanks,
Henry

Logitech 320 wireless mouse quit working after recent Windows Vista update

Try unplugging the wireless receiver from the computer, and plugging it back in. Also try changing the batteries in the mouse.

My logitech cordless mouse keeps throwing the cursor to the top or bottom of the screen while im trying to use it,and its slow to respond when im moving the mouse

Ok, if your mouse is throwing your cruiser around and it is lagging this may mean that you have too much interference between the mouse and the receiver plugged into your computer, first check to make sure that you do not have to many objects between the mouse and the computer and if your mouse uses batteries then you need some new ones in their. If that still doesn't work try unplugging the receiver from the computer and a few seconeds and plug it back in this also works sometimes.

Last week we purchased a Logitech mouse it is programed for an Apple Mac to-day we find it has stopped working. Can you please advise me on how this problem. Thank You Maureen Wright

Sure.
Create the problem in the correct category, for Mice, Logitech, under the model you have.  Then make sure the mouse has good batteries and you've loaded the appropriate drivers on your machine, and if it's wireless go associate the mouse with the USB dongle, which shouldn't have anything on top of it since it has to do antenna duty with the mouse.  Got all that?  It works already once you do that much, right?

Well, say what happens if it didn't.

Trying to bind my MX400 Mouse's forward and backward buttons inside of games. I've been using the Setpoint tool, tried binding them to keys on the keyboard with no success.

Try setting the buttons to "generic" in SetPoint and then assign fuctions via the game options.

From Logitech Knowledge Base:
The information in this article applies to the following products:
All Logitech Mice
Logitech SetPoint
Cause:
Most games that support a mouse will give you options to program or assign specific functions to various buttons on the mouse. These games normally look for generic mouse buttons when attempting to bind the mouse buttons to a game function. If the button is set to another function in SetPoint (such as Universal Scroll, Back, Forward, etc), the game may not see the mouse button as available to bind. This mainly affects buttons 3, 4, and 5.
Solution:
To resolve this issue, set the button you wish to program to a generic value in SetPoint. The following values should be used if you are having problems binding buttons in games.
Mouse Button 3 (The Middle Button/Scroll Wheel):
In SetPoint, assign this button as Middle Button or Generic Button.
Note for MX Revolution users: You must disable Logitech Smart Shift Technology or the Middle Button option will not be available in SetPoint.
Mouse Buttons 4 and 5 (Normally the thumb buttons):
In SetPoint, assign the thumb button(s) as Generic Button. Note that these buttons will still work in most browsers for forward and back. It is not necessary to assign these buttons to Forward and Back in SetPoint for this functionality.

I recently bought a logitech LX3 optical mouse...worked fine til i installed the downloadable software from the logitech site...i uninstalled the software and now the mouse doesn't work at all....tried the...

Hi Mary,

Just uninstalling the software won't help. You have to see whether or not your PC detects the mouse on startup. If not, go to the System Properties in the control panel and look for any conflict signs in the Hardware List. If so, you will see a yellow/red triangle with an Exclamation mark in it. This indicates that a hardware peripheral is either conflicting or not installed correctly or drivers missing. Highlight that by a single mouseclick and delete that & close the wondow. Now go to Add New Hardware in the control panel & try autodetecting the mouse. If your OS asks for drivers CD simply insert the Windows CD in your driver & direct its path to autodetect the .inf file and autoinstall the default drivers.

As far as I feel, an opticla mouse such as the one you have mentioned should automatically be installed if you are using Windows XP.

Anyway, try the above and let me know.
