"F02" is a Long Drain error. This usually is an indication of either a drain pump malfunction or something clogging the drain pump or drain line. You need to check the electrical connections to the drain pump and inspect the pump filter and drain lines for obstructions. If everything checks out, it is recommended that you replace the drain pump. Click on the following link for instructions on how to check the drain pump:

If you diagnose the pump as defective, a replacement can be purchased at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your model number in the "Search by Model Number" block and the part can be located as item 10 under the "Pump & Motor Parts" heading (part #8181684). If you do not wish to purchase on line, use the part number provided and go to your nearest appliance repair retailer. I hope you find this information helpful. Post back if you have any questions and/or need further assistance.

F- code 02

How to fix a Whirlpool Duet & Duet sport error code F02. Repairing your F02 error code can usually be done without ordering parts. Tools needed to repair your Duet F02 error code are towels and a quarter inch socket.

Tip the washer back at a 45 degree angle. On the bottom panel there are three or four screws, with the screws removed the panel will slide down and off. With the lower access panel now removed you will have access to the washers drain pump clean out.

With the water already bailed from the washer you can twist the filter head counter-clockwise to remove. Twisting the filter head counter-clockwise will loosen filter so it can be pulled out. With the filter out, clean and install back into washer.

Run a quick cycle to ensure the washer is back up and running and the F02 error has disappeared. If the error comes back it may require you to clean the drain pump filter again.

What does F-02 flashing on the display of my Whirlpool Duet washer mean?

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

F02 is a drain error in your Kenmore washer, if the unit is unable to drain then after 4 minutes it will display suds and then F02. The first thing that should be done is cleaning the drain hose and the drain pump filter, you can take out three torx screws from the bottom front panel and then clean the area completely, lift up the cap to clean the filter. If the error returns then check the drain pump if it is not working then replacing the pump is recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Whirlpool duet gives me an error code of F 02

"F02" is a Long Drain error code. This is an indication that there's an obstruction in the drainage system somewhere. Most commonly, the drain pump reservoir needs to be checked and cleaned. The access screws are on the lower toe panel directly below the door in the FRONT of the washer. They are located under the bottom front edge of the panel. You may need to prop up the two front feet of the washer to access them (a 2x4 works well for this). The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3574284-checking_the_drain_pump_on_a_front_loade

It does not take much to damage the pump impeller or motor. Since the error code is generated if the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes, if the pump is damaged and can't pump at the required volume, the error code will continue to appear until the pump is replaced. If the pump requires replacement, the following link explains how:

Replacements can be purchased online at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

Prices vary between these sites, so shop and compare.

If you have any questions about this repair, or need additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.
