In some devices the message type gets converted from SMS text message
to MMS multimedia message if the message length exceeds the
device-specific setting which is typically 5 - 10 SMS submessages
(around 760-1520 characters). If the message is longer, it is converted
to MMS to avoid potential issues in handling long text messages in the
recipient device. The cost of a SMS message consisting of several
concatenated submessages may also be higher than the cost of a single
MMS message. The conversion from SMS text message to MMS multimedia message occurs when the automatic
message type is selected in the message options. This is the default
mode where the device tries to automatically select the best mode for
the message. The conversion from SMS to MMS can be avoided by selecting Options > Sending options > Message type > Text
when in the Text message window writing the message. The message
is then always sent as SMS text message and no conversion to MMS occurs. The
maximum number of concatenated SMS submessages can be up to 10 (around
1520 characters). In multimedia mode the message length can be longer.
Just upload your card on your phone from your computer ..with the cable or via bluetooth ..and after that insert it on a multimedia message (MMS ) which is capable to send images too ..or ..if you already have it on your phone ..just open it ..click on options ..and select send ..and than via mms ..and just like sending a sms add some text if you want the number and that's all .. Or ..go to messages..select new MMS ..and add the photo with the card ..and than the text ..select the number and send..
You should be able to send a text message with the picture attached to an email address.
to send a multimedia message/text message w. picture attached: -find the actual picture you want to send on your phone and select it -then hit your "menu" or "options" button, which should give you an option to send/share the picture -select text message or multimedia message (MMS) -in the "to" line for the text message, enter the email address you'd like to send it to -hit "send"
this may help all those who are with Orange. Go to the Orange website. Click on the Help and Support tab. Search for `MMS`. You will see the option that will help you and orange will send you an update via text message and the problem will be solved in seconds. I needed to do this to both use the internet and send MMS messages.
I don't know whether the other networks have the same set-up, I would think so as this one seems to work really well. I still don't see why you would need to do this in the first place, clearly it is a problem that lost of people are having.
First of all setup an MMS connection for the MMS Service to use, by doing the following - 1) Go to START > SETTINGS > CONNECTIONS > CONNECTIONS 2) Go to the ADVANCED tab then press SELECT NETWORKS 3) Your 6515 will be set to MY ISP as the top option 4) Press NEW to setup a new connection. 5) Call the new connection ORANGE MMS and click OK 6) Press EDIT to go back into the ORANGE MMS settings 7) Go to the MODEM tab and press NEW to setup a new modem 8) Name the modem connection ORANGE MMS and select CELLULAR LINE (GPRS)as the modem 9) Click NEXT 10) Put ORANGEMMS into the access point name then press NEXT 11) Put Orange as the username (with the capital 'O' and lowercase 'range' as written) 12) Put Multimedia as the password (with the capital 'M' and lowercase 'ultimedia' as written) 13) Click FINISH then press OK 14) Set your top option (presently should be ORANGE MMS) back to MY ISP and then press OK. 15) Close your connections screens
Secondly you need to configure the MMS settings in Messaging - 1) Go to MESSAGING 2) Go to TOOLS > MMS SETTINGS 3) Change "Connect Via:" to ORANGE MMS (the connection you setup above) 4) Go to the SERVERS tab 5) Press NEW to setup a new MMS server, 6) Next enter the following details - Server Name: orangemms Gateway: 192.168.224.10 Port number: 9201 Sever address: http://mms.orange.co.uk/ (make a note of the port number, it is NOT 8080 as shown on other sites !!) 7) Press OK then set the new ORANGEMMS settings to be default 8) Press OK again to close the MMS settings
should now be ready to send and receive MMS messages. Note that MMS
will dial over GPRS to connect automatically, but sometimes will NOT
hang up automatically. Also MMS messages take an age to send and
receive, so be patient, but obviously over 5 mins is too long ;)
Your phone ran out of memory and the only way the messages could be sent or received is through mms on the phone. You need to clear out the in and out box often so the phone will not do this. Also you must reboot the phone after you have cleared out the in and out box. Then it should work.
