KITCHEN AID SIDE BY SIDE KSRP25FSMS01 We first niticed the freezer and fridge not being cold enough, then it stopped making ice. The freezer would not freeze things but still felt cold. I cleaned the bottom coils. They were not too bad. This fridge is only three years old. Then after reading I noticed a build up of ice around the bottom vent. This has since melted and what remains frozen and continues to freeze is the water line behind the panel right under a fan and next to what looks like the thermostat. I now replaced the control unit in the fridge side and the problem still exists. Not cold enough in the fridge and not cold enough to make ice. Frozen water line. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Chris from Hollywood

Freezer not making ice

Is it an icemaker? Either the water valve is bad or the freezer isn't cold enough or the ice maker is bad. Is it just a ice cube tray? Then it's not cold enough.

Freezer not getting cold and dripping water

I own a similar Kitchen Aid fridge that had a defrost icing issue: Kitchen Aid KSRP25FNBL00
> Ice had plugged the drain hole at bottom of chill coil section inside the freezer compartment.
> I learned that the coil, circulation fan was not working, but condenser was working.
> I paid a tech to replace the circ fan, about $200, including a new swiss-made fan. He said it was unusual for these fans to fail, but not unheard of.
Expensive, but saved the purchase of a new fridge. Has worked great for 6 months since then.
HOpe that helps.

KITCHEN AID REFRIGERATOR PROBLEM We bought a used Kitchen Aid fridge YKSRS22Q (1993), the ice maker is not working but water does work. What should we check to see why the ice maker doesn't work?

Ice makers work off of temperature. If it's not cold enough in the freezer it won't work. Check the temperature with a thermometer, it should be 0 to +10F

Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

Kitchen aid top shelf warm

  1. check gasket
  2. check the light switch on top of the refrig. section. If then pushed the switch turns the light off, but the light is still on with the fridge door closed - door needs adjustment.

Freezer cold but not fridge

too much ice bulid up will stop enough cold air being blown into the fridge.Try turning it off letting all ice melt then turn it back on again and set thermostat at a lower temp. There may be ice you can't see.
