    My Zen V 4Gb, it's stuck on Re-building Library...

    Anyone...how can i fix that

    thks

Nope. This is the second time this happened and none of these work. I searched again to just see if someone else came up with another solution than to have to deal with Creative again.

Plug it into the computer and while its in press and hold the reset button for 4 or more seconds the rebuilding library should come back up and fully load until its back into charging mode

Got this off another site:

Sorry to hear about your problems. Try to get to the rescue mode. Get your DJ to turn off. Hold the play button while hitting the reset button. Select disk cleanup and let it run. You library will be rebuilt after this. If you have the same problems with the library rebuild, format your DJ and reload some music. See what happens then. Sorry if you gott format it but it will probably work.

Try pushing the restart butten(diden't work on my zen,but worth a try). If that fails try plugging it in to your computer(that worked on my zen) ......

SOURCE: rebuilding library screen

I had the same problem - I went into recovery mode by pressing play, pressing reset with a paperclip for 4 or more secs, keeping pressing play and when it comes on it should show a recovery menu. Select option 1 - Clean Up, wait until this is finished, then select Reboot (option 4?) - it may need to rebuild your disk yet again but then should work OK - at least mine did. I hope this isn't a recurring problem though....

Zen player mosaic crashes re-building library (uses flash memory)

I've been having the exact same problem. No matter how often I reset it it still becomes stuck on the rebuilding screen. I was thinking I may just copy all of my music onto my computer and then do a complete reset on my Zen and copy it back but I don't want to go to all that trouble if there is an easier way to fix it.

Frozen

if it keeps on rebuilding the library the disk had a bad spot on it try going in to recover mode and do a clean if that doesn't work do a format if that doesn't work download the latest firmware if that doesn't fix you will need a new hard drive or flash drive.

Freezes at "rebuilding library"

I just found this on another website and it seems to be working so give it a shot

Listen!!!!! Anyone having problems try this before you blame the product. Turn off player........remove battery.......hold on button ON and put battery back in while still holding the power button on. When power comes on release the power button. You should now see a clean format and re-boot screen. Use the clean function two times. After the second time go down to reboot and should be fine. Worked for me. The Zen Micro Photo is a sweet mp3 player. Dont blame the product for something YOU most likely did. This will fix 99% of your players problems

Rebuilding library screen

I also had this issue and had tried ALL of these soutions with no success. I had just given up with this unit (as useful and functional as it was when it was alive) - after days and days of trying all these solutions and more when I thought I'd try one more recovery session before getting the sledgehammer out - I reset the unit with the paperclip/pin and held down (as difficult as it is) the Play / Return AND the center button all at the same time - and there it was finally - the administration menu. I formatted, cleared, etc.. and then used the ZEN firmware upgrade process (you can download this from Creative if you need the firmware but chances are if you're here in this group you are just short of becoming a jr. Creative Technical support person). I am now back in business - but how long do I really have? We'll see......

Problems with turning on

Sounds like it may be the index in your Music Library. Try going into Recovery Mode the routine way; remove battery(are they charged and good?), hold power switch to ON, replace battery, release power switch when the Recovery Mode screen appears on the screen. Run Option 1 CleanUP, after it completes run Option 4 Restart/Reboot. You will get a Rebuilding Library screen when it reboots, that's normal, then it should go back to your startup screen. Good luck and let us know what happened
