do a clean install of win 7/8. I picked up a corsair for 150.00 fry's.

How to resolve Xbox 360 disc read errors. Xbox will not play disc.

Is your xbox360 having trouble reading disc? In this guide I will provide some common solutions to help you fix your disc read issues.

1)Remove any memory devices or usb flash drives.
2)If the disc you are using is excessively scratched, this can cause the xbox to have trouble reading the disc. You can use a damp soft cloth to try and clean the disc. Grab the disc by the edges and using a soft damp cloth lightly wipe the disc from the center going outward.

3)Try removing your Xbox hard drive and then play a disc. Turn off the console. Locate the hard drive on the top of your system(depending on how you have it positioned). Press the release button on the hard drive.

If your system can read disc without the hard drive attached then you may need to replace the drive.

4)Clear the Xbox360 cache. Clearing the cache may remove updates to certain games. Keep this in mind.
Go to System Settings in the My Xbox menu. Select Memory, highlight your storage device and select Clear System Cache. Try and play the disc.

If after the above steps you are still having trouble. You may want to contact Microsoft Xbox live support to have your system serviced. You can find the support information in the link below,

CDS slipping when playing.

Try the disc in another CD / DVD player.

It is important to make sure that the DVD itself is the problem, and not the CD / DVD player.

Cleaning a CD / DVD player is a much more intricate process that requires device-cleaning hardware.

Lay the disc artwork-side down so that you can easily clean the playing side.

You should always avoid setting a disc playing-side down to prolong its lifespan.

Gently rub the disc with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove all traces of dust and fingerprints. Always rub a disc from the center toward the outer rim in a light motion to prevent any other damage.

Apply a light amount of toothpaste to a cotton wool ball and gently rub the disc from the inside out.

You may need a few drops of water to make the toothpaste spread easily.

Cover the entire surface area of the disc, or at least the area that is scratched.

Toothpaste is a gentle abrasive that works well for fixing simple scratches.

Clean off the toothpaste with the cloth, once again rubbing from the inside of the disc toward the rim.

Try not to push too hard to prevent further damage.

Apply other kinds of light abrasives such as baking soda or glass cleaner if the sound is still distorted.

Remove the solution with the same gentle rubbing technique.

Purchase a disc-cleaning spray from a local video or electronics store.

These sprays are effective in removing any grime from the disc and filling small scratches.

hope this helps

Can you give me instructions on how to install a new evaporator motor for the freezer? The fan has died and only the freezer is cold and not the below fridge. I bought the new motor from the Sears tech...

It not to hard to do, if you have some mechanical ability and some basic household tools. First unplug the fridge. Then remove the contents of freezer so you can remove the back panel in the freezer compartment. You may need to remove the shelving in order to get to the back panel. Once the panel is removed, you should be able to see the evap motor. It usually mounted with a couple of bolts or screws. Loosen the bolts, then remove the wires. The wires may be attached with wire nuts or they may have some crimp connectors. Either remove the wire nuts or the connectors and reattach wires to the new motor. If your new motor does not come with a fan, simply pull the old fan off and press it onto the shaft of the new motor. Install the new motor with the bolts or screws. Plug in the fridge, if you have attached the wires correctly the fan should spin, otherwise unplug and check your work. Replace the panel and the food and plug in the fridge. Hope this helps you.

Code f70 . fuse is ok.what is next....

- if you've got any knowledge of takin these type of things apart then here goes. undo the six fixing screws (if it outs of warrenty that is).
what you'll see is a main board and a little pcb boad attached to the back in which the rca's are connected to. remove the screws that hold this in place and with a set of long nosed plyers gentlely close the plastic lugs so you can remove it ( also remove all wires as to remove it compleatly) if you look on this little board you will see 2 black chips that are next to each other. the 1 that stands out the tallest out of the pair CHECK IT FOR DRY JOINT (solder split ) as that 1 normally becomes loose and can move about (re solder it) and replce back. now on the main heat sink unit you have 2 amp chips. remove the screws and clean all heat sink compound. put new compund on and screw back ( these dont need removel if your gentle. replace the cover and see what it does
best of luck

Fifa 09 football problem. telling me to clean disc as it is unreadable i am cleaning the disc and restarting the console but it keeps telling me to clean the disc.

One common problem that video game players have all the time are scratched discs. A helpful way around buying a brand new game or a disc scratch remover, is to first:
a.) Borrow the same version of the game from a friend
OR
b.) Rent the same version of the game from a store
Now, take the unscratched disc, and install it to your hard drive.
And lastly, now you can put in the scratched disc and go to "Game Library", choose the game, and select "Play from Hard drive."
The reason this trick works, is because when you play your disc from the hard drive, it uses minimal memory from the disc itself.
NOTE: Installing a disc to your hard drive does NOT replace having to put in the game to play it.
You still need a copy of the game in order to run it from your hard drive. I believe this is some security feature so people don't go around copying the games and not buying them.
Also, I would NOT install the scratched disc to your hard drive, for this will not help your problem at all.
