volume to the max but still can hardly hear. Cannot find volume button on the laptop itself

  • saywhatup Dec 26, 2008

checked device manager and control panel accessible controls but nothing seems to help. Volume is still too low to hear sounds correctly.

I have same problem. MAZDI did not bother to read the previous posts properly. Typical! The problem is the volume is to low. I have to pick my Latitude up and place it next to my ear to hear it. Also, headphones do not help. Can not hear thru them either and I am not deaf.

I have a Toshiba Desktop Ext Hard Drive PH3100U-1EXB ... i unplugged it from my desktop to plug into my laptop like i have done before but this time it wouldnt load so i tried to eject it but it wouldnt...

but does it still work on the desk top.
if yes, then you have lap top issues, ONLY.
easy ,huh?

try all lap top USB ports no ext. hubs allowed.
what is wrong in the LAP top OS, unstated)

are you using the correct external power adaptor for both Desk and lap top usage,
have you tried a diff. usb cable.
Laptops can not power the hdd via the USB at all, and in fact
should be avoided at all times. no matter.
the laptop can be infected.
the laptop might have USB issues, with drivers.
do a USB driver update. (no 0S stated)
does the HDD show up in Disk manager, as DISK2
can you set the drive letter?
can you set the volume label on this disk via DM?
if yes, you then can read and write the drive.
as stated on all pages for USB
disconnect all other USB devices, and now try this HDD.
do a full virus scan, and malware scan
do wInDoZ update.
I think i hit them all.

No volume from turntable, even with volume turned to max, are ther internal fuses ?

You don't state which model the turntable is. Without this we are working blind. If the turntable has a built in amp then that will have failed. A blown fuse would shut down everything. If it has no built in amp and you have it connected to a separate amp, then you have either connected it to the wrong socket - it needs a phono socket - or if the amp doesn't have one you need a magnetic cartridge preamp.

Static with the increased volume of the microphone on my lap top

Hi there, is there any equalisation tabs on your laptop. Very often reducing the high treble on it can help but definately don't turn the volume to max. I'm not sure if thats any help or not. :)

My Philips SBP1100 speaker' volume is not loud enough

Were they ever loud? If they weren't (which is my guess - judging by the picture) is that they are low wattage which essentially means that they are not intended to be loud. They are most likely to be used as a small compact, low-noise speaker for a smal MP3 player where high (club-vloume) wattage/volume is needed. If they used to be loud check the volume control on your laptop and check each and every setting that there is. One stupid little setting could be a big difference. Audio Properties in the control pannel could be helpful but don't mess with those settings in the control pannel unless you are almost positive as to what they are and what they do. You could cause yourself a bigger problem. Remember that most laptop speaker outputs are actually for headphones and are not intended to go super-high as they are designed for headphones and not to hurt ears at high volumes. Hope this helps. If not try checking back with me. Best of luck. Bonne chance!

Out of range

Out off range means the resolution coming out of your laptop is too high. Remember it's the res. of your second monitor you'll want to change. I'm thinking it'll be 1024x768 max, but may even by lower. Hope this helps.
