If you tried it straight after, it may now be broken. The general treatment is to take out any battery, and place it in a warm dry place for a day or two to eliminate any moisture. The internals of any drill will not usually be damage if you do this.
The same is true to some extent of mobile phones, key remotes etc.
Pull the motor brushes out and clean them up also take points file to the brush holders if it has them to clean them up. Not sure which model tool you have so I just gave an educated guess.
If the battery was connected you probably shorted out the battery. Shake all water out of drill and let dry. get a battery that was not in water, try this. If still won't work you will have to bring to repair shop. If you try and take it apart it may be hard to put back together.
The gasket between the light assembly and the body is a poor design and lets water into the housing when it rains hard after it dries out after a few years. Taking the lights off and replacing the gasket or adding sealant may help. I drilled a small hole in the bottom of each plastic housing for the water to drain out and resealed the lights too. Any water that gets in drains out the tailgate drain holes. Problem solved.
You should have left it together wet, mine has been in the river 9 times, still going, they are pretty tough. Putting the parts back together, you have to look for the wear spots in the grease or even the diameters of the gears to make them fit the slots they sit in, You should be able to find this info on line, http://www.toolpartsdirect.com/cgi-bin/schematic.cgi/bosch/3050VSR.863
If you can get the chuck to open and close the you need to open it in unscrew the bolt that is down inside, then put a allen key[5/16 or so] in the chuck, tighten it up tight and with a hammer give it a crack clockwise with the drill pointing away from you and the just thread it off.Good luck.
