Question about DISH Network ViP622 DVR DTV Receiver / 180-Hours Video Recorder

Dish-vip622dvr my dish keeps turning off! right now it is working fine but a few mins.it will make a noise and signal will be lost, it will fire back on and great picture, no bad weather in area! please help

My reciver dont recored and dont pause and take like 12 minutes to turning on, and have a message that a have to add a usb to help organize the programing a recored, o and is to slow that a have to keep presure the channel buton for like 5 seconts to make change

I have Dish 322 receiver. Everything was fine; a week or so ago satellite 119 reception was spotty, now we can't get 119 at all. We get 110 but only about 34%. Sometimes the receiver will power itself off...

It looks like you have lost the signal for the 119 satellite from your dish. Are you getting an error message, either 002 or 015, saying the satellite signal has been lost or acquiring satellite signal? First, check the cables on the back of the receiver to make sure they are secure. You can also run a check switch test to see if there is a problem between your dish and receiver.

Press the Menu button on your remote. This will bring up the Main Menu on your TV screen. Input the numbers: 6 (System Setup), 1 (Installation), and 1 (Point Dish). On the right side of the Point Dish screen are 3 buttons. Select the Check Switch button. Within the 2 large boxes are satellite numbers and green or red boxes. Make a note of the satellite numbers (should be 119, 110), the trans, the device, and switch. Super dish and alternate should not be checked. Select the Test button on the bottom of the screen. If a box pops up with a warning about TV 2, select Yes. It will now run the check switch test. Let it complete the test. After completion, the screen will automatically go back to the Installation Summary screen. You may get a message stating that the Check Switch test has found fewer satellites than previously detected. If you get this message cancel out of each screen (do not save the results) till you are back to the TV screen and it is acquiring Satellite signal.

If you don't get that error message, see if the information on the Installation Summary has changed. Then select Done on the next 2 screens and cancel out of the others till you get the message, Acquiring Satellite Signal. After it finishes acquiring satellite signal and downloads the program guide, see if you are getting a picture - try different channels. My dvr shows a 1hr program fully recorded, and begins playback fine. After almost 10 min playback ends but when paused, continues to show another 50 min available.


Hello! Daniel Busa with Dish Network here. That actually happened to me about a month ago a hard reset resolved it for me. If that doesn't do it try deleting all of the recordings that don't play back correctly,reset it again and keep an eye on things, it may be a bad box.

When you get the message 836, found fewer satellites than previously detected, it usually indicates a problem with a component between the dish and receiver. Normally a tech needs to be sent out to find the problem and to fix it.

Depending on the number of receivers you have active on your account, you may have a loose cable to that receiver if other receivers are working okay. If you have a switch between the dish and receiver, a port on the switch may be bad. If this is occurring on all your receivers, you'll need to call Customer Service to setup a Tech visit.

Hello! Dan Busa with Dish Netywork here intermittent signal loss like that is usually caused by some sort of glitch a hard reset ( unplugging it for ten seconds ) will usually resolve this. If your signal strength is at or above 80 that should be fine, but keep in mind you need good signal strength on both the 119 and 110 satellites ideally you should be at 70 .

The Sky HD Box keeps losing the signal on every channel except terrestial 1, 2 3, 4 and 5. An error message comes up with 'no satellite signal being received' and codes 28 and 49 and to get the signal...


could be any of the following;

1 dish out of alignment (re-align dish),
2 faulty LNB (low noise block) on the dish (likely) replace
faulty box, even more likely

Problem jumps back and froth from tv1 to tv2


One of the inputs on the back of the 322 box is bad. usaly 1 wire runs from the dish into a seperator that splits the signal into 2 at the back of the box. you will need to call dish and have a new 322 sent out. 1-888-333-3474

Fuzzy tv screen that says lost signal (no dishnetwork signal)


Here are a few suggestions,

*Check your connections to make sure none are loose.

*Try checking the Dish box to make sure everything that should be turned on is actually on.

*Also make sure channel 3 is the correct channel by contacting your service provider.

Dish Network - Dish 500 Satellite 110 is not being recognized


Lonnie, You have a simple problem,the 119 satellite is lower in the sky than the 119 if you make sure the pole you are mounted on is straight and plum ,then simply raise the dish a few elevation degrees and turn the dish to the left.Your dish is aimed low and to the right.
