Question about SanDisk Sansa c250 (2 GB) MP3 Player (SDMX7-2048)

Sansa C250 Yesterday I was able to sync songs to my new sansa but today the computer says it is an unknown device and will not recognize it. What do I need to do? I do not have an installation disk. I've read some of the other replys and when I go to setting I do not get a usb option at all.

    i have the samne problem. Yesterday my Sansa was fine and today I tried to download a couple of new songs and no matter what i do my pc will not recognize it. My flash drive still works when i plug it into my usb port, so it is not the pc. HELP!!

    Already thought of that. Didn't make any difference. I tried three different computers. My husband tried to download ever update, driver, etc. Nothing worked. It recognized it for 5 minutes - long enough to transfer some songs and then it was gone again.

Might be the USB drive. try putting it in the other port (if you have a desktop, you should have two ports. If you have a laptop, try it on a friend's computer).

Synchronize songs to Sansa c250


newtech -change the USB mode on the player away from where it is now. Turn on then press and hold the rewind button while plugging to the PC.

darama - you have to plug the mp3 player into the computer and refresh it through Bearshare. If you let your subscription lapse, you won't be able to use the songs naymore.

These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. If these fail, then:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.

Sansa c250 not recognize in my computer


I have the same problems and did the same things you did until I update the Windows Media Player to 10. It works fine now.

I have sansa c250 ,it is not running on my pc (OS -WIN XP).


The PC is not recognizing the device? Are you running Windows Vista? if so, go to Sandisk's website for software. If you are running windows ME or 98, go to Sandisk's website for drivers.

Downloading music


if you have windows media player you can put the CD in a select "Rip" and then the songs will be in the library then you go to "Sync" and then pick the songs you want and then press "Start Sync"

Cant arrange songs according to my way


I used ID3-TagIT to change the album name of my songs to the name of the folder on my Sansa c250 that I want to put the songs in. Open your Sansa in My Computer, double click on Internal Memory and open the music folder. Add a new folder and name it whatever you put in for the album name of your songs. Highlight all your songs and drag and drop them into your folder. Don't use media player to sync or they end up all mixed up in different folders.

Computer says no files on device


Open device manager under the Control Panel to view hardware and devices. There should be a tab under portable devices that recognizes the Sansa c250. If their is a yellow exclamation point, then most likely the device has stopped working. Right click on it, and uninstall the device. Unplug your Sansa, wait a couple seconds, then plug it back in. Let it do its thing. If this does not solve your problem, then you should deffinately call the manufacturer.
