Seems LSI has several versions of that board on their site. The following link will take you to the base model, click on the "Support and Downloads" tab to pick the right OS for your board.

You may have damaged the file sytem, most options will require you to have a windows disk so you can try a few repair options.
You may just need to repair the MBR (master boot record)
Try google http://www.sysint.no/nedlasting/mbrfix.htm

My pc keeps on restarting after loading the xp screen

Disconnect any new devices you may have recently added and boot the PC.

As its booting press the F8 key several times, this should bring up several boot options. Choose "Safe Mode" .

This will bring up windows in a stripped down form, once complete click on start - all programmes - accessories - system tools - system restore (This is for XP, vista and win7 are a little different)

Restore to a date prior to when all the problems started.

Windows XP on Acer Aspire M1610

Hi Watashifr,

First you will need to boot up. When you do this you need to go into bios and then go to boot and disable the hard drive floppy and any other drivers. You must make sure you keep the cd driver as 'able', save setting and exit out of bios. This will let you reboot. After it`s done, the partition in the computer will reboot the computer. Make sure to go back into bios and able the hard drive, floppy etc...
I had the same problem, and solved it this way.
