You can install the drivers of your inbuilt card reader directly form the new through the computer management module,
you can reach the computer namagement by,
right click in my computer--> select Manage--> in the opened dialog select the "Device manager" from the left side of the dialog box.
when you select the device manager option all the system components in you laptop will be listed, from that select the card reader and right clik over it from the listed option select "update driver"
thats it follow the instrucitons over it and select the option to download the drivers from the internet.
thats it..your card reader drivers will be installed.

How to remove write protection for SD cards

The issue may be with your card reader or your card, if you installed the driver with the SD in the port and in the lock position then it may have messed with the functionality of the port.

I suggest you move any/all files from the card and then format it, or re-install the driver that corresponds to your SD card reader on your computer. If you cant do anything with the SD card as is, then re-install the driver for the card reader first, then try to format or write to the card.

I had an issue with formatting a card while ago, if you try both solutions above then use a 3rd party formatting program. I will paste a link below.

Hope this helps!

Toshiba Satelite SD Card reader driver

It's a common problem when you do a OS upgrade, Is that the only device in Device Manager that isn't working? Any Unknown Devices? You didn't supply the Model of Toshiba, or the original OS? Download and save the Card Reader driver for Win 7, Change the Compatibility of the driver and install.

Computer can not read my card reader

It is probably an issue with not having the proper drivers for the card reader. The first thing you should try with most computer problems, is rebooting. Shut your PC off with the card reader installed. Leave it off for a full minute and then restart it. If it still isn't recognized by the computer, you will need to install drivers for the card reader. Check the card reader for a brand name, a serial number, or a model number. I did one some time ago and the only information I was able to come up with was "e-machine" and"card reader" .... very generic. Enter your info into Google. As an example, "e-machine 4560A drivers". Or, even a more generic approach such as "card reader drivers" may yield some results. Chances are you will be given a variety of sites that offer drivers.
is also a good site to search. When offered a number of sites, such as with Google, watch to make certain the link that you are clicking on is the actual download link. Often times, site will have advertising for other software.

When you save the file with the drivers, it is usually such that you just double-click on the file and it will install it's self (make sure your card reader is plugged in). Remember where you are saving the file to. If it doesn't automatically install, and go to Control Panel>Add Hardware and the Wizard will direct you. You may have to enter the path to the download. It should then install the drivers.

Transferred pics from cell to micro sd card now i want to transfer the pics from the card to my computer

you'll need a card reader for this. Check in your closest computer store for SD Card Readers. They usually come as 5 in 1 or 7 in 1, so with that single device you can use practically all memory cards. This should be about $10-$20, there's no installation needed, you just plug it into the USB port and that's it. When you insert the card in the card reader your PC will recognize it as a new drive and then it's a simple matter of copying them off the card like you'd copy stuff off a USB key.

USB ports work at 1.1; s/b 2.0

Your computer is functioning correctly.
The USB ports on your laptop are USB1 ports its pard of the hardware.
Your PCMCIA USB 2 card runs at USB 2 speed and therefore when you connect a USB 2 device to this port you will not get this USB message.
