The player is broken. If it's new, return it. Otherwise throw it out and get a new one. Cost more to try to have it fixed on warranty than to just replace it.

How do I remove stuck DVD?

If this is a combo unit the first thing you have to do is remove that dvd from inside the player. Open up the unit and do the deed. THEN see what happens. Often when the player gets jammed or whatever, it will render the rest of the set useless until the hassle is removed. In this case get that disk outta there.

If still nothing disconnect the power line that feeds the dvd to see if that has any effect on overall tv operation.

Disc tray cannot be opened

Hi, The unit is in initialization/reset mode immediately after powerup. It does a self diagnostic sequence. When a fault is detected, it actually locks up till the fault is removed/repaired. A couple of things you can do: 1. Unplug the unit from the mains for a couple of hours; 2. Check your manual if there is a hard/full reset sequence/button and perform it; 3. Remove the topcover and inspect the loading tray. There is a possibility that a CD is stuck, lodged or skewed inside; 4. There is also a possibility that the loading mechanism is stuck, defective belt/gear; 5. if the unit is still under warranty, require service or replacement; or 6. if no longer under warranty, seek the services of a qualified professional. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turn up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.

INITIALIZE THE DVD PLAYER -FIRMWARE UPDATE

INITIALIZE THE DVD PLAYER
FIRMWARE UPDATE
1. Turn the power on and remove the disc on the tray.
2. To put the DVD player into version up mode, press [9], [8], [7], [6], and [SEARCH MODE] buttons on the remote control unit in that order. The tray will open automatically.
The DVD player can also enter the version up mode with the tray open.
3. Load the disc for version up.
4. The DVD player enters the F/W version up mode automatically. If you enter the F/W for different models, "Disc Error" will appear on the screen, then the tray will open automatically.
5. After programming is finished, the tray opens automatically.
At this time, no button is available.
6. Remove the disc on the tray.

Stuck in safe mode

To begin with someone needs to open and look inside the unit to see if the disc is out of position or jammed, this could trigger the safe mode.

POWER UP, BOTH DVD &HDD BUTTONS LIGHT, LOADING DOES NOT APPEAR...NO RESPONSE VIA ANY MODE OF COMMUNICATION.

turn off and unplug from power outlet, let sit a few minutes....then plug in power up, check JVC home page on net to see if they have problems with these, could be a disc stuck in unit....if door will not open, take back to where you bought it....I have a Pioneer but I did take the cover off and a DVD was stuck in side, I managed to carefully remove it....it is a slow process as everything is made from plastic

Panasonic DVD player stuck in safe mode

Just got off with the Panasonic people. You have to turn it on, then hold down the VCR play button and channel up button at the same time until the unit turns off. This will reset the whole player. Then turn it back on & it should open!

Sanyo dvw 6000 dvd/vcr player

DVD loading mechanism doesn't load completely that's why opens after attempt of loading.
You need to open top cover of unit and inspect loading belt might be lose, tray timing can be out of phase, some wire got stuck with tray while loading etc.

Curtis DVD player - Stuck in Load Mode so won't open - dvd inside - correctly seated - but may not be compatible. I just burned it & was testing it.) Have tried the paper clip in the tray release...

Do the following

Unplug power cord.
Wait two minutes and plug it back.
Keep repeatedly pressing the eject button while you start the unit, before it starts reading cd inside. Do this a couple of times.
If you cannot eject the disk in this way you will need to take unit apart.
Unit won't start until the disk is inside, as it tries to read the disk , disk is faulty and unit get stuck.
