No Code Search Button

I have an RCA Colortrak 2000 TV with a SystemLink remote control. I had to turn it off to move it to a new stand. My remote does not have a button labelled code search. It's about 15 years old....maybe more but works great! How can I manually program it? I watched the tech do it months ago but forget what he did. Thanks so much!
