I have a Yamaha 9000 Pro keyboard which I bought new in 2002. Its been great up till now and has developed a sound problem. When playing all the different instrument with the right hand there is a crackling noise and the sound is breaking up, this is more pronounced when you play an organ sound. I have eliminated a speaker problem and I am quite sure its something else. Can anyone help please. Thank you. Terry.

Have you tested the sound with a pair of headphones? Do that first as a test.

I just updated the firmware on my Yamaha PSR 9000 keyboard now when I switch on all I get is a blank blue screen.

I expect you updated the wrong version or it crashed before it finished updating.
The only version is v3.06. Any other will crash it permanantly.

While the blue display is working alright, my yamaha i425 suddenly stopped working. Cannot play the keys anymore..The power adaptor is working fine

Either your key scanning section or the power amplifier has fried.
Try playing the demo song, if the sound can be heard then the scanning section is faulty. You may download the servicemanual from Elektrotanya com and repair the keyboard.

Yamaha YPT-410 When playing the keyboard, the sound cuts out when playing multiple keys, and then begins again only to cut out again. Does not matter which keys. I have done a factory reset and it did not...

It's probably your keyboard. Some keyboards are limited with it's polyponic capabilities. Some can play many notes at one time, some cut out when it reaches it's limits. Check your manual for specifications.

I'VE A YAMAHA PSR S700. The problem is with it's screen. Whenever i start playing, the screen fades and then it comes and it goes and vice versa. This occurs almost two - three days a week. There...

Likely a connection to the backlight is being broken. Tap on the unoit and see if it pops back on. Illuminate screen with a flashlight and see if the characters can be seen when screen is faded. If they can, then the backlight is the problem... IF NOT then the display may be bad... This has been a problem and if you are under warranty, excersise it immediately... else replacement of the display is relatively expensive.

Some of the keys do not play on our Yamaha PSR-330. How can we fix that?

The key contacts have gotten dirty. The contacts are CONDUCTIVE rubber pills that are pressed onto circuit traces on the circuit board under the keys. Onehas to dis-assemble the keyboard very carefully noting the size and location of all the screws and using great care of the cables that connect the top and bottom of the case.
when you remove the keys, you will find silicone rubber strips with the black pills underneath, two pills per key.
Clean these with ONLY 99% isoprophyl alcohol and Qtips as well as cleaning the circuit board traces they contact.
Carefully re-assemble the keyboard.

Yamaha Keyboard Microphone Not Working

Hi Simon. Has the cable to your Mike been trapped under the stand, trodden on etc. Could be a faulty plug or even Mike/switch. Did the Mike ever crackle under use?

Have you another Mike and lead to try?

Sorry for the obvious questions but I have seen this happen before and it was a faulty lead...
