I purchased this product, for use with my desktop PC. It installed fine and worked immediately. It worked without problems fora couple of days, allowing my to access the internet without issue.
One morning my wife was using the internet, then she shut down the PC and went to work. When she came back in the afternoon and started up the PC, the Belking USB adapter would not be recognised by the computer anymore.
Nothin had been touched since the morning. I removed the USB adapter and tried it in other USB ports, without success. I reinstalled the software from the CD, however this hasnt helped.
What OS (Operating System) are you using??
If it's Windows 2000, XP, Vista or 7, then they MUST have any USB device plugged into the SAME USB port, or it screws up the OS.
Try going to Control Panel (Classic View), then choose SYSTEM to get into Device Manager, go down to USB and see if ANY Belkin adapters are listed (assuming the USB adapter IS Plugged In) - if you see any listed, double-click the adapters and choose to uninstall then.
If that doesn't work, then reboot, pressing F8 repeatedly before the Windows "Splash Screen" shows up. After repeatedly pressing F8 on Boot Up, you should select SAFE MODE (just the choice that only says SAFE MODE). Once SAFE MODE comes up, open Device Manager the same way you did before, then go down again to USB and Delete ANY & ALL Belkin USB adapters listed.
Then reboot and see it it recognizes the Belkin USB adapter now and hopefully will let you setup it's Software.

Based on the 802.11n draft, N Wireless enables multiple receivers and

increases speed, coverage, and the reliability of the wireless network.
i had a similar problem with my old belkin usb adapter, i simply downloaded the new Belkin Wireless Utility and it fixed the problem. If your usb isnt belkin try downloading the drivers or latest software of whatever manages your wireless usb adapter. =)
The Belkin site has very specific instructions for installing this adapter in a pc with Vista. These instructions are at: http://www.belkin.com/support/article/?lid=en&pid=F5D9050&aid=6112&scid=0 I would first unistall any Belkin Software that has already been installed, shut down the system completely and then restart. After you have fully restarted the system then follow the Belkin Site instructions EXACTLY. Any variation is apt to mean an unsuccessful install. Good Luck and have patience.
Uninstall the old installation of the driver and the restart the pc. disconnect the belkin and install the software of the belkin. After installation insert the belkin device and let the system detect it. if this act thesame then maybe you update the driver of your belkin here you can download: http://www.belkin.com/support/
A couple of things:
1. Have you tried all the USB ports of your desktop PC (front and back)?
2. What is your desktop PC brand/model or at least the motherboard? and What OS please?;
3. If running Windows in the desktop PC, can you please check in your Device Manager if your USB are 2.0?
4. Are you using a USB hub or directly connected to the PC's USB port?
Hope this be of some idea/help. Pls post back with your desktop brand/model/motherboard.
Good luck and kind regards.
the only thing that connects the printer to the internet fault is the fact that the printer and your belkin are both usb connected.
If you are using a laptop then it could be a usb power problem and the motherboard is disconnecting the belkin adapter for some reason, the only one i can think of is a power problem.
The same can apply to a desktop pc if there is a usb problem
Firsly i assume you are using the belkin software to connect the usb adapter to the router, so on your taskbar on the right there is normally the little aerial type icon for the belkin adapter and a little pc screen showing the connection also, if you right click on one of theses icons you should get a line reading 'enable windows WZC', if you do get the option enable it and try using the windows connection software instead of the belkin as it may stop the disconnecting.
Also ensure that when you installed the software to your printer your firewall and antivirus was dissabled as certain elements to the driver may not have been installed.
Lasly, try using different usb ports if you have spare ones, with both the printer and the adapter as sometimes the chip on the board may be instructing the usb ports incorrectly as to which is required first, as windows asks for certain things eg input/output ports to be used first,in other words the IRQ (interupt request) may be causing the problem.
