That link will take you to the Dell support page for your Dimension 4500 Desktop PC.... (That's the motherboard used, so that's what drivers you need.. However, if you are NOT running XP, you may have to buy a usb LAN or wifi card, since there are no new Lan drivers that are compatible with your onboard lan to my knowledge. Again, HERE IS THE LINK TO YOUR DRIVERS (ALL OF THEM). from the Dell Support website.
if the sci36-r13 is the stock mobo that came with that pc it isnt worth upgrading pentium 4's use the LGA-775 socket this is compatible with all pentiums and core 2's (not includeing core i7), so you could put in a core 2 quad if you wanted to but it would not make much difference to performance because your motherboard would not be able to handle some of the fetures your ram would also reduce preformance
if you wanted to upgrade that computer you would have to replace everything but maybe the case
You can do this with case modification as well as a new psu as Dell used proprietary mb's, psu's & cases on this model Dimension. To tell you the truth it would probably be cheaper and easier to pick up a core2duo or quad barebones kit than trying to modify the Deimension. Just my opinion. Remember Dell psu's are not wired the same as industry standard and their motherboartds in these older units are not top quality. Hope this helps you out.
Well the two would not be compatible cause one is a P3 and the next is a P4 two completely different socket types so it wouldn't work but what u can do is buy a new motherboard if u want to upgrade to a P4...thats the only thing that is recommended from such a devices cause an upgrade wouldn't be possible to do .
