Question about Maytag Neptune MDG5500AW Gas Dryer
Have a Maytag Neptune Dryer, Model number MDG5500AWW
(gas). Last week (No lights on panel, no power when
you hit the start button). Had a serviceman out who said it was
the control board, showed it to us and could see visible brown marks at
top of the control board (looks like a circuit board) where it looked
like something blew. Total repair cost
would be $293 ($170 part plus the labor).
The repairman plugged the old board back in because we probably weren't going to fix it and he said it started to work when he leaned on it, and in fact after he left it did work with the exception of the heat cutting out part way into the cycle (say, after about 5 minutes or so). My husband got ambitious and decided to try to fix it himself, located a circuit board for $170 and installed it. Things looked good, he thought it was working fine, but when I did laundry myself, I noticed the same problem with the heat. With sensor or timed heat it seems like it starts to heat up, when I stop the dryer and stick my hand in it feels very warm but then after more time it goes cold.
Thank you very much ~

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.
if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....
If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.
