Not enough info in your Q to help you.

1) What's the source?; TV tuner (digital terrestrial, cable, satellite. Internal or external tuner/receiver box)

2) One channel - some channels - or all channels affected?

3) Just this TV, or are other TVs affected in the house too

4) Are your neighbours having the same issues?

5) What have you done so far to troubleshoot the problem yourself? (retuned, checked cables, checked signal level, realigned aerial/antenna etc)

No sound and picture

If you have the older TV with a CRT, here is my answer. By now this TV has a loose capacitor. The capacitor will not have any solder around the pin for a proper ground. Next, there may be a large power resistor that is not attached to the board as for the same reason as the capacitor mentioned. I have not repaired your TV model, but experience tells me what to do. You asked, so I'm sharing. These are just one of many grounds. You will need to solder the vertical IC, Horizontal transistor, horizontal transformer, flyback transformer etc. You will have to inspect the board for any and all solder grounds. Also, be sure to resolder the small board that is attatched to the CRT (pull this board off carefully and then solder). You should not have to purchase any parts, resoldering will bring it back to life.

Vertical line down the center, sound OK.

This is the deal. Your picture tube is going out. How thick is the line. As it gets wider that will tell you how much more time you have. Was the TV dropped? There is a way to adjust this but you have to get into the back of the TV and if the static discharge is not done properly it will kill you. Don't mess with it. It is now cheaper to buy another TV on craigslist or your local paper than trying to repair it. Hope this helps.

Digital channels lost on DVD recorder

I'm delighted to report that all is now working.
I turned the recorder off at the mains electricity supply, left it off for several hours, switched it back on, searched for new digital channels, and it found them all :-)
I had tried this before, but only left it disconnected for a few minutes, and clearly that wasn't enough.

Connections for Satelitte TV2 to TV and DVD/VHS combo

Hi copperiamthere is some things that can be done to get your TV2 working. The first thingyou want to look at is the Modulator Setup (MENU-6-1-5) and make sure TV2 isset for channel 60 AIR, after that you will want to select done and then makesure TV2 is on channel 60 and if you still do not have a picture you will wantto make sure the connections are hand tight from the wall to the TV and thenyou will go to the receiver and unplug it for 10 seconds to reset it and afterit acquires signal you will see a picture on your second TV.
