Suddenly, our rice cooker stopped working. Though the switch is on and the light glows, the items are not cooked at all. We don't know why? What may be the problem and how to rectify this?

Make sure the bottom of the bowl and the inside of the cooker itself where the bowl rests are clean. If they are not the cooker will think the rice is cooked when it is not.
check replace the micro switch of your rice cooker it is the switch that is connected to the cook and warm button....check for the heating ellement it is the coil that heats to do this open the bottom cover of your rice cooker you can see a round shape fillament examin whether this fillament is not brocken and is connected to the power source
Check the outlet where u plug in the rice cooker. It could be that the circuit breaker has kicked off or the fuse has blown. let me know how you make out. If that isnt the problem I have additional suggestioins
The preassure switch may be not working right. It may be corroded, etc. Unplug the unit and push it back several times, try to see if the spring is working, etc.
It came with a small plastic measuring cup. The ratio for that is 1 cup rice to 1 cup water (using the measuring cup for both items). Measure out your rice first, BUT for best results you need to rinse your rice several times (I do three times or until the water is fairly clear). Place rinsed rice in cooker and add equal amout of water . You can also add in your butter and salt at this time if you wish. put lid on cooker, plug it in and push the little lever down (it'll click). It will cook for about 20 minutes and the lever will pop up on its own. Don't do anything yet! you need to wait about 10-15 minutes more, or at least until the steam stops before you open the lid. The rice should be cooked perfectly.
There will (with this model) be a light brown crust on the bottom of the pan, butthe instruction manual said that it was a normal occurance (but it is a buggar to get that off-soaking for a couple hours helps).
I really like using rice cookers because they do a great job in cooking the rice. I hope this clarified how to use this model.
