I had the same problem. Replacing the sensor is not gonna help. it is a focus problem. I had to fold a small piece of paper and put it under the sensor to raise it up alittle then you screw it in. The size of the paper you will have to figure out for yourself, but it will help u fix your problem

Can you be more specific when you say holds tempo in cd mode? Do you mean the pitch control / drive does not work, or is it intermittent?

I had a similar issue with my Technics sensor, I just tried the paper solution, hoping its not so temporal but will last for a while as I do a lot of mobile events... Thanx
