Can't get phone to ring and display says line in... (by 3 users)
I just bought this phone and set it up. The phone has a dial tone but I cannot get the phone to ring. The display is showing Phone in use when it is not being used. What am I doing wrong?
The phone is a GE Model 28811 Series DECT 6.0 Cordless answering system.
I have read the manual several times but it does not address this problem other than indicating Make sure the handset ringer software switch is set to on. I found no switch on either of the phones that i have.
Please help!!!!

I have disconnected phone line and electric...removed batteries, then replaced all...still has display
