Canon i960 worked perfect until one day I turned it on and got 5 short amber & one long green light blinking at me with a little message in the print box saying
"Operator error.
Press printer's RESUME button.
If this doesn't clear the error, cancel printing and turn the printer off and then back on."

You can try reseating the print head.
Click on Service and Support, then type in 5 flashing lights. Click on the first result, then the first on the solutions list.

Probably your waste ink counter. Should be cleaned or replaced before
resetting but usually you can get away with resetting once. 1. Start with printer OFF 2. Hold down RESUME and then hold down POWER 3. Release RESUME 4. press RESUME twice, then release POWER 5. let green light blink until printhead has finished moving. 6. Select functions below with RESUME, execute with POWER

How long has it been since you printer prior to the other day ? If you do not use your printer for some time, the ink will dry out even if it's a new cartridge.

Try the below procedures maybe the error of your printer is the waste ink counter.
