Question about Canon Office Equipment & Supplies

Problem with an CanoScan 8400F, just started 2 days ago. I have tried all the usual things pwr off, usb, uninstalled driver, downloaded latest, get the same error each time. Code: 2,178,0. I even hooked it up to another pc that had never used it or its drivers and when tested it does the same thing with the same error on a different pc. This is crazy.

Try this:

Open the CanoScan Toolbox.
Click the Save option.
Put a check in the box that states "Display the Scanner Driver".
Click Scan.
Click the Advanced Mode tab.
Make sure Select Source is set to "Platen".
Click the Preview button at the top left.
If the error still occurs, then most likely it will be a service issue.

One thing to check...see if the inside lamp illuminates when you turn the scanner on using the power button at the back left side of the scanner. If you get no light, then as mentioned before, then it will most likely be a service error.

Good day! Sorry for this late reply as we have been experiencing typhoon in our area and we had lost power for 3 days.

Connecting Canon MP830 to your wireless network to be able to do wireless printing.
The best thing to do is to uninstall your current printer drivers, download the latest drivers from Canon support site then install it.
Step1. Uninstall the current printer drivers:
  • Click on START.
  • Click on Control Panel.
  • Control Panel Window will open.
  • Make sure the Control Panel Window is in Category View.
  • Click on Uninstall a program under Programs.
  • Scroll down and look for program/s relating to your Canon Printer, uninstall all of them if there are more than one.
  • Double click to uninstall.
  • Follow the instructions if it has one.
  • After uninstallation, the program will be removed from the list

Step 2. Download and install the latest driver:
  • Click >>HERE<< to go to the download page.
  • On the download page, select your OS (Operating System)
  • Click on Drivers after you select your OS.
  • Now, download and install the driver.
  • Double click the downloaded file to start the installation if it does not start automatically.
  • Follow the instructions during installation.

Well reinstalling the printer driver is really recommendable. But before reinstallation I strongly suggest that you remove the usb cable then uninstall existing driver. After uninstalling the driver please restart the pc then start the installation without the usb cord unless being asked.

Communication error, all the cables are fine and it printed fine 2 days ago.


two things you can try

1] try system restore for two days back

2] go to add/remove the programs uninstall dell printer and reinstall the drivers from support.dell.com

Printer won't print test page after downloading driver for x4270


-disconnect from computer
-perform printer self-test (refer to printer documentation)
-change usb cable

Lexmark series x2350 all in one scanner does not work.


You will need to uninstall and reinstall the printer driver again, since the driver installation seems to be incomplete. Please follow the steps given below:

To uninstall, please follow the steps given below:

1. Click on "Start" and "All Programs."
2. Go to the "Lexmark X2300 series."
3. Click on "Lexmark Uninstall."
4. Click on "Next."
5. Click on "Finish."
6. Click on "Restart Windows" and unplug the USB cable.
You may copy and paste the web address below to access the Lexmark X2350 Vista driver to install:

Test Page automatically prints


Disconnect Printer from PC. Uninstall the driver and download most recent driver from HP web site. If there is a print management program which there should be uninstall this as well and download the latest version.

Shut down, not reboot PC
Start PC

Start the install process by installing the print management program installation. Follow the process and test. If it persists try a different USB cable.

Hi,

Assuming no hardware issues with your printer/PC, a few ideas you could try:
1. Update your Windows specifically your USB drivers;
2. try the rear USB port if on a desktop;
3. uninstall all the USB devices in your Device Manager, reboot and allow Windows to auto detect/install the USB;
4. download latest drivers and re-install (of course all instances of the PIXMA iP3000 in your Printers & Faxes must have been initially deleted/removed.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up, your OS, what have you done so far or should you need additional information.

Seems like its a common problem.
Are you using a usb cable direct connection or a serial to usb

Try this:

1. Make sure the only printer connected is your hp printer that you are having problems

2. From your control panel go to system then go to device manager

3. Under universal serial bus controllers, look for usb printer or any usb printing device you see there and uninstall it.

4. Disconnect your usb cable from the printer and your computer

5. Uninstall the driver from the add/remove programs or hp's driver software uninstaller

6. Restart your computer

7. Download the latest driver from hp's website or use the cd installer

8. Plug in the usb cable from both ends and restart again the computer
