You need to narrow your problem, remove all cards sound modem etc to see if you are having a conflict then try again.

This is my daughter's computer. It freezes, it shuts down, it skips characters when typing. She is a senior in high school and is getting so frustrated trying to do her homework!

Download a copy of CCleaner and run a cleaning on it. After that use the registry cleaning function on it (making sure to save a back up of the registry of course). Do this once a month.

There is a RAM testing program that you can download and install onto a thumbdrive that will test your RAM to make sure if isn't faulty. Memtest86+ is a good one. You can download it here. I have used the "Auto-installer for USB key" to create a thumbdrive that will load the program when you start the computer. Once you have installed it on the thumbdrive, restart the computer with the thumbdrive in, and set the BIOS to load the USB before the HDD in the boot device order. (generic directions here) If you can, test only one stick of RAM at a time. This was if there is a problem detected then you will know which stick of RAM is the troublemaker.

Finally, download a good disk defragmenting program and defrag the hard drive.

Your card requires a 450w power supply and depnding on what you do with it, it may be pushing your PSU. I would try upgarding you VGA driver first here;

choose your o/s, Vista and Windows 7 are the same. You may have to uninstall previous graphics driver for this to work. If you haven't upgraded in a while, this will probably solve your problem.

Computer hangs regularly, usually after just over an hour. But occasionally after a few minutes. Attempts to check 1TB disc unsuccessful (Extended WinDlg122) because computer freezes half way through...

Sounds like 1tb hard drive is passing quick test and then freezing extended test. And if it doesnt freeze during the 200gb test then I would guess the 1tb is going bad. Check the event viewer in windows under system and see if there are any Disk errors with a red X and that ideall will say disk drive 1 or 2 cant read it and yeah that would help confirm it is failing.

I want to know how to install outlook express 6

What operating system? If you have Vista or Windows 7 you cannot install Outlook Express as it will not work on either. Vista has Windows Mail built in and on Windows 7 you have to download and install Windows Live Mail http://download.live.com/wlmail or you can use Mozilla Thunderbird.

System freeze for a few second then back to normal

have you tried running benchmark software with both the 5600 and the 6000? if you run say aquamark or 3dmark 06 or 07 and compare the scores you will see which is faster then what... if the 5600 is in fact showing that its faster then you may have to update your bios so it recognizes the new cpu some mobos i have messed with had this problem but after flashing the bios it corrected the issue esp if the cpu was released say a year later from when the mobo was released. make sure you have amd driver software installed too this gives you a performance boost if you install the amd driver software rather then running windows drivers that automaticly installs on your computer when you install windows most forget about the drivers for the cpu because only recently amd started making drivers available directly from their sites. here is the link

Error Code

All you can do is Reinstall windows. You should get the Windows Vista Installation CD with your laptop and all you have to do is put it in and restart your computer and when the message that says "Press any key to boot from CD" press a key.

If it doesn't show up, you may have to press a key like DEL or F12 to get the boot sequencer. When you first turn on the computer you should see the Compaq logo. At the bottom of the screen you should see some buttons to press to do things like BIOS and Boot Sequence. You want Boot Sequence. Once in boot sequence, select the CD-DVD and press any key when it says to.

Once in follow instructions or oyu can reply and i will tell you how to install.

Pc keeps freezing PLEASE HELP

step 1: clean up your drive by using "left click desktop My Computer icon-hover drive c then right click and select Properties-look for Disk Cleanup button and select it and proceed to eliminate almost everything that you can. step 2: Then select TOOLS tab and run Error Checking and deselect both optionals then run Defrag. When done, then run Start-All Programs-Accessories-System tools-System restore and then turn off Restore. step 3: Now repeat step 1. step 4: Now repeat step 2 but turn on restore. step 5: power down (using Windows-not power plug). step 6: restart Windows if all worked ok, what you just accomplished was to free up many many bytes of data. The restore function, when used continuously, can use up a sizable portion of the drive which is also looking for free virtual memory space. Also, if you have 1Gbyte of memory or more, you may turn virtual memory off, improving speed.
