Question about Kenmore 75050 Wall/Window Air Conditioner
I just purchased this unit, the Kenmore 75050 and I can not get the drain plug in the hole that the directions say it should go in. Any suggestions?
I heated the drain plug in a cup of boiling water to soften it. I went in easily after that.

I had the same problem. I had to remove the rubber gasket on the drain plug, and then push and turn before it went in. Its not a firm fit without the gasket, and you can`t remove the plug afterwards. still its better than no plug.

I had to return the a/c unit. The instructions were terrible. After returning it to sears, I purchased the exact same unit at the home depot but it was under the brand name Zenith. Although it was the same unit, the directions were more specific, but the drain plug was still the problem. My boyfriend pushed and jiggled until it finally popped into place. I, at first, took the rubber gasket off of the plug and put the drainplug in the opening and re-attached the rubber to the drain plug that way but it wasn't very secure and I was going to return that as well until he finally got it into place. Good luck to anyone who buys it. Not sure how poor or great of an a/c it is yet because I have not installed it in the window yet.
