Can't install drain plug

I just purchased this unit, the Kenmore 75050 and I can not get the drain plug in the hole that the directions say it should go in. Any suggestions?

I heated the drain plug in a cup of boiling water to soften it. I went in easily after that.

I had the same problem. I had to remove the rubber gasket on the drain plug, and then push and turn before it went in. Its not a firm fit without the gasket, and you can`t remove the plug afterwards. still its better than no plug.

I had to return the a/c unit. The instructions were terrible. After returning it to sears, I purchased the exact same unit at the home depot but it was under the brand name Zenith. Although it was the same unit, the directions were more specific, but the drain plug was still the problem. My boyfriend pushed and jiggled until it finally popped into place. I, at first, took the rubber gasket off of the plug and put the drainplug in the opening and re-attached the rubber to the drain plug that way but it wasn't very secure and I was going to return that as well until he finally got it into place. Good luck to anyone who buys it. Not sure how poor or great of an a/c it is yet because I have not installed it in the window yet.

All of a sudden the airconditioner started filling up with water and the fan blades started spraying water out of where the air comes out. The unit is draining from the back.

Try cleaning out from under The evaporator (front) coils towards the back so the water can drain underneath the front coils towards the back
Make sure the unit is tilted a little towards the back
Clean drain hole in back too.

My kenmore window unit keeps blowing reset button what could be problem. its not the plug to house i already checked it

It's the reset button on the plug itself.
Those things are the worst invention ever.
Cut that thing off and attach a normal plug.
Then buy a cheap power strip with automatic reset switch and plug to that.

Kenmore AC 58067081. Have water draining out front. Think it's clogged, but where are the drain holes. Nothing in manual... I've taken off the front grill, and shop vac'd up the water sitting in the bottom...

If you can slide the unit out, there is a drain tube or drain hole from the front tray under the coil that directs the water into the rear of the unit to drain out the hole. That tube needs to be blown out or flushed. It's most likley plugged. You only need to add the drain pipe if you want to direct the drain water away from where it drips now.

My Air conditioner leaks water

All A/C units drain water and need a clear path to drain water.
If window unit the unit MUST lean to the outside so the condensation water can drain that direction and insure the drain hole is clear of debree.
If an indoor central a/c unit the drain must be clogged the unit is leaning away from drain or the pipe going to the drain is clogged somewhere as it exits house. Cant drain if doesn't have a clear path to do it's job. Doubt it's a problem with the brand.

I just bought a samsung 15k BTU window a/c, I haven't seen any water dripping out of the bottom of the unit. In fact there is absolutely no moisture anywhere. Is this normal. Humidity is low, and it is...

If the humidity is low then the amount of water removed will be low. The AC (I assume is a window unit) May be evaporating it off as soon as its drained outside..

Yes in low temps and humidity it is normal for no moisture to be made in abundance.

This is all assuming the temp is coming down as you direct it to.

Please rate me as high as you can and thank you for using fix ya.

Second try....
Any unit can be recharged, however, its not cost effective to repair most window units unless they are under warranty.

Kenmore aircondition

First is to make sure the evap and condenser coils are very clean. A dirty evap coil will cause icing as well as a blower not running and low freon. Hope this helps. Thx RepairUSA

All that foam packing inside Kenmore 75050 air conditioner

make sure what you're calling foam packing is not in reality foam insulation. If that's the case you'll ruin your unit by removing it. It would be pretty unusual for packing to be placed inside the unit.
