"Code 37 <SCRIPT type=text/javascript>loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation');</SCRIPT> Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37) Recommended resolutionThe driver returned failure from its DriverEntry routine. Uninstall the driver, and then click Scan for hardware changes to reinstall or upgrade the driver.
In the General Properties tab of the device, click Troubleshoot to start the Troubleshooting Wizard. " If that's your error message, then you need to uninstall the software, and make sure you check for hardware changes. That means that perhaps you haven't updated your operating system. Your computer should have the basic drivers for the mouse and keyboard already included with your operating system. This error message indicates that your computer doesn't all the files it should have, and this doesn't have anything to do with the software. I would recommend testing on another computer, without installing any software, as the first step. Make sure the keyboard and mouse work before going further. Then, if it works on another system, might need to contact your computer manufacturer for more assistance. They should be able to tell you where to locate the particular updates you need to get the driver files, or how to force the computer to properly detect keyboards and mice in general.

Hi,

Try to disconnect the wirless kb & mouse then uninstall completely. Likewise remove all entries of the Logitech wireless kb & mouse in your registry. Reboot your PC and do a complete Disk Cleanup. In your Device Manager, verify that it no longer shows even under the "Show Hidden Devices". Reboot again and reinstall.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Hp computer, keyboard& mousee need to reconnect Computer said keyboard error

Is this an HP Wireless Keyboard & Mouse? If so, I would recommend uninstalling the driver and installing the most up-to-date driver for your version of keyboard and mouse. You could also try connecting the wireless dongle to another USB port on your computer, but if you are receiving an error, the problem is driver related.

I have a Trendnet TK-209 KVM switch. My keyboard and mouse (MS wireless) that worked well for a year stopped working through the switch. they work well if connected directly to each computer.

I can confirm the same problem happened with me just now. I have TrendNet USB/KVM TK-207 and was flawlessly working with Logitech K260 Wireless Mouse and Keyboard Combo, but today on both computers all I can see is the error:

.
USB Device not recognized - The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it.

I unplugged the usb wireless adapter and connected it directly to the PC - it worked like a charm again. I have tried to connect the wireless adapter to the mouse port hoping that the keyboard USB port is causing problems, but all I got was the same error. I have tried to conect a normal USB keyboard, but again the same error I get for both - the mouse and keyboard, so it is more than obvious now that the USB ports of my KVN Switch are malfunctioning. I will try to leave it for a while if it got hot somehow as it was connected for more than 6 months working perfectly fine, but if not, I am heading to the store for support/replacement.

My computer stopped recognizing my wireless keyboard &amp;amp; mouse. Says it's missing a driver or that the device is malfunctioning. Don't think it's a battery prob. Do I need a new driver?...

Uninstall the Keyboard driver.
Unplug the Logitech keyboard.
Restart the computer.
Plug the Logitech keyboard back into the computer.
Windows should recognise the keyboard and/or the mouse.
Place Logitech setup disk in drive.
Reload the drivers...

The drivers sometimes corrupt themselves..
You might download the latest drivers for your keyboard/mouse.

Wireless keyboard doesnt work with switch

once you have switched pc you will need to re-sync the wireless keyboard and mouse with the new pc, because although you have switched pc the keyboard and mouse do not know this. there should be a reset/resync button on the bottom of both the keyboard and mouse
