Hello here is the home page:

I think you have some kind of a virus or malware on your system.

Install this program and make a full scan:

You maybe have to start the pc in failsafe mode by pressing F8 while you reboot.

Install also a better FREE antivirus program:

Please uninstall any other antivirus programs before you install microsoft security essentials. Run a full scan when installed and updated. It`not great to have more than one anti virus program installed. Most antivirus programs have a background scanner running to protect you from virus vhile you surf on the internet open a file etc. With more than one antivirus program the pc`s performance will be decreased.

There are a lot of things that can cause a computer to shut down. This could also be the power supply.Try also to renew the thermal grease between the cpu and the fan but BE CAREFULL not to damage the cpu.
If you are unsuccessfull at resolving the problem visit a computer repair shop.

When you talk about checking memory, it's the physical RAM stick inside the computer. RAM does not have sectors like a hard disk drive. If it does happen to be bad I'd replace it with at least 1GB to 2GB. 512MB is really low.

Good luck

How do i tell what kind of motherboard i have

Access the CPU-Z website, and click on the "1.55 setup, english" under the "Download latest release" on the right hand column of the page.

You will be taken to a separate download page.

Click on the purple "Download now!" button to begin download. A new window will pop up confirming the download. Click "Save File" to save the setup file to your computer.

Open the executable setup file by double clicking on it. Follow the setup process to install the CPU-Z software. Restart your computer when the software is finished installing. The program may take a few minutes to load your information.

Click the "Mainboard" tab at the top of the CPU-Z program window. This will reveal the manufacturer and model of your motherboard. Write down your motherboard information and keep it in a safe place. Click the red "X" in the top right corner of the program window to exit the CPU-Z software.

Sandra Lite Software Option

Access the Sandra download page through the SiSoftware website and click the "Download" button at the bottom of the "Lite" column.

You will be taken to a page with several download options. Select a download site from the "Affiliate Free Download Sites" section, and click on the link to the right of the red arrow.

XP C-drive onto new mobo/cpu/ram gives 1706 errors on start-up

Did you undertake a "repair" of the XP installation..? You should repair the existing installation using your original install disk But don't use the Repair console option, Go past this option until the install program tells you that it has detected an existing installation and would you like to either repair this installation or re-install from scratch.. Choose the repair option. Once this has completed, you should then install the mainboard drivers and then, go to Windows update and install ALL the required updates. This method ensures that the old mainboard drivers are removed and the new ones, including updates are installed. If this fails for whatever reason, you may have no choice but to undertake a full re-installation of XP including a format of the drive (sorry).. Then, once you have done this, you will need to re-install MS Office again as the repair of XP will overwrite some of the data and DLL files belonging to MS Office..

I am facing problem with office 2003. whenever we run our official software.durin run that software office setup runs.what is the reason behind this

Uninstall and Reinstall Office 2003 as an administrator. Make sure you leave the setup files on the computer with the office installer prompts you. Then run office updates repeatedly until there are no more updates available.
You software is most likely using a feature of Office 2003 that is not installed and it is trying to install it on 1st use. Trying a complete install may fix this problem as well.

DID you replace the hard drive as well???
or is it the original HD.

IN intersests of protecting thier own assets(anti piracy)---Microsoft stamps an encoded "Product ID"
on the hard drive to which THEIR software(all you get is a "Right to USE) is installed..

Even if you have the original setup disks-- it most likely does NOT stamp this code(P ID) on ANY hardrive. WHY??
IT was all too easy (for example) for someone to use their 95/98/me setup disk and install it on any number of PCs-- regardless of brands. Hence the need to implement anti piracy protection.

However there ARE hard drive imaging programs that will COPY bit 4 bit your original hard drive data to a new hard drive --- including the encoded P ID. (some are legal--you may have VALID reasons for replacing your hard drive..Some are NOT.. --some people insist on piracy. and thus driving up the cost of ALREADY over priced inefficient software...

My sugestion--- try linux. Iv e been usuing it for 8 years and will NEVER return to MS
linux is faster safer AND yes smarter then anything ever engineered by microsoft...

Linux comes in many "brand names"often called "distribution or distros" It is NOT owned by any single company-- the inventor licensed it under the General public licenses. or GPL.
YOU and I have the rights and privelige to USE COPY Modify(make it BETTER) and even redistubite it.. Provided that we follow the same/similiar GPL.

Be forwarned ..because it is its own operating system You may not be able to use your favorite Microsoft programs and any LOVER of microsoft will strongly discourage you..

FYI using crossplatform software included I have installed my own legal copy of MS office 97--the last ms product i ever bought. I have also had luck installing some games and other software like quicken. But I only did this for the purpose of testing claims made by linux users. Personally I would much rather use any of the hundereds of office suites, financial programs, educational programs etc provided by linux. A thourough ditribution may span as many as 5 dvds (20gb) But most people are comfortable with a single or double cd installation.
