How do I register my GEForce GT 640?

simply go to this web pae
http://www.zotac.com/support/warranty-manager.html
and register your product. Be sure to have model number and serial number to hand.
(or go to manufacturer's (assemblers) website and carry out the same procedure - not the NVidia web page unless your board was assembled by NVidia)

Need replacement FAN for ATI Radeon HD2600Pro graphics card. Where are best sources?

Some ideas,

1) http://www.directron.com/ecvcribl.html

2) http://www.directron.com/eccuv2ab.html

3) http://www.directron.com/vnf100.html

Skipped past the ATI Radein HD2600 Pro, (More of an Nvidia fan), so I don't know how they have the fan/heatsink attached.
Don't know if they used Thermal Glue, or Thermal Paste for the heatsink. (Or a thermal pad)

It is Always best to replace the thermal compound. Cheap insurance.

A) Thermal Pad:
Remove the heatsink.
Carefully remove the pad the best you can, then use Q-tips dipped in Isopropyl Alcohol to soften the remnants. Follow with a plastic scraper, (Old credit card?), and more Q-tips dipped in alcohol.

Make SURE the top of the GPU is CLEAN. Then properly apply fresh thermal paste to the top of the GPU, and set the fan/heatsink assembly in place. Lock the fan/heatsink assembly down.

[ GPU
Graphics Processing Unit,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPU

The GPU used in an ATI Radeon HD2600 Pro graphics card, is an ATI RV630,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of_ATI_Graphics_Processing_Units#PCIe_.28HD_2xxx.2C_HD_3xxx.29

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radeon_R600

B) Thermal Glue:
Requires using a hairdryer set to low heat, and constantly moving the hairdryer's nozzle around slowly.
Once the glue softens gently twist the heatsink loose.
(Wear gloves)

C) Thermal Paste:
Remove the heatsink.
Use a clean plastic scraper, and plenty of Q-tips dipped in alcohol on the GPU.

(Isopropyl Alcohol. Commonly referred to as Rubbing Alcohol.
91 percent is best, 70 percent will do in a pinch. Advise against 50 percent.
50 percent alcohol, 50 percent water.

CAUTION!!
Isopropyl Alcohol is EXTREMELY FLAMAMABLE.
Use in a Well ventilated area with NO sparks or flames present.

Once you set the heatsink, or fan/heatsink assembly in place, and have it secured, look at a side view of the graphics card.
Room well lit, and a light background.

See if the heatsink is sitting flat. You do not want it sitting at a slight tilt.

As you can see, I am trying to steer you towards making sure the thermal compound, is in good shape. It is best to just replace it. Thermal paste is cheap stuff.

{To Add:

Heatsink:
Basic construction is a plate of metal with tall, thin fins protruding from it.
The plate of metal absorbs heat from whatever object it is placed against, (In this case a GPU)
The tall, thin fins absorb heat from the plate.

The fins then radiate the heat away.
With a fan used in conjunction with a Heatsink, the air flow from the fan helps carry heat away.

Thermal Compound:
{Thermal Paste, Thermal Glue}

The top of a Processor, and the top of a GPU are not perfectly smooth.
A magnified view would detail, 'Hills, Valleys, and Pitholes'

Same with the bottom of a Heatsink. (The plate)
When the Heatsink is set on top of the Processor, or GPU, there are air pockets created from the imperfections of the two surfaces.
Air is trapped in-between the two surfaces.

{Heatsink on top of Processor, or Heatsink on top of GPU}

Air is an Insulator. Not a Conductor.

Thermal paste fills the voids, (Imperfections), and is an Excellent conductor of heat.
Thermal paste, (or a Thermal Pad), can dry up over time.
The thermal conductive properties are gone, or negligible ]

Here is an informative guide on disassembling your laptop.

If you order a new screen assembly from Ebay for it (just search "toshiba 1800 screen") then you could install it using this guide.

I would rate this as intermediate/advanced in terms of difficulty. It's not overly hard, but any messing up might mean you break the ribbon connectors or the screen.

Be careful!

Also, word to the wise: if it is under warranty or even close, call toshiba and plead with them first. Be polite, it goes a long way.

My Ge Force will burn an audio disc but not a DVD.I have tried Ashampoo,Record NOw and Express Burner.I am told that there is no Disc in kthe drive.

It is extremly possible that the laser assembly is dying or dirty.
The beam to burn a CD is more (wider) than that for DVD.

First off try a lens cleaner but be aware these are not always succesful and avoid any abrasive types of lens cleaner as that will make theproblem worse.

If that faile you are looking at replacing the laser assembly or replace the whole drive.
The cost difference is not always worth the laser assembly approach and quite often a new one is a better path

I have a sony vaio laptop and the screen has all lines on it,what could it be?

Hi:
It is most likely the LCD assembly, but to eliminate other possibilities, connect up a desk top monitor to your laptop, and toggle to the external display and check the picture on it. If it is good, then your LCD is bad, if the picture is still bad, you have on board video problems, and not easily fixed. To toggle to the external display mode, you usually have to hold down the function key and hit the function key with a picture of a TV screen on it.

Video Card PNY VERTO GEFORCE 8400 GS stop working

adcg,
the world of war craft is played online through servers, not just on your computer. the version is needed to see if there are issues with your video card, Do you have XP home or XP pro?
you have more than 1 mb of ram
at this point I am going to say that you have issues with the video card take it back and get an ATI to replace it, they are better and have less issues.
you could also be having an overheat problem with the CPU and that means you need a new heat sink and fan assembly to keep the CPU cooler when you are running this game.
That is about all the help I can give you , my advice is to take the computer to a service center and have them look at the CPU heat sink and fan assembly to see if it is working properly.
hope this helps

You should contact ASUS and ask them if there's anything they can do. I doubt that it's possible. You will probably have to buy another card. Good luck.
