Question about Whirlpool Refrigerators

Open Question

The fridge is a ED5FHG with the Ultraease 300 water filtration. My issue is the flow rate of the door water dispenser is slow. New filter, old filter, no filter provides little difference. Is there a way to increase flow. It takes over 30 seconds to fill an 18-20 ounce glass.

SOURCE: Water Dispenser

does your refrig have a built in water filter? it may need replacing. if thats ok try checking your water supply to be sure that there isnt a kinked water line. if both of those check ok you may have a bad fill valve.

SOURCE: whirlpool ultraease warm on left side, dispenses warm water

not dangerous, i would recommend vacuuming coils under and behind refrig, make sure the fan behind the unit( cooling for compressor) is running full speed. the water is probably "warmer" then usual because the waterline runs across the bottom of the refrig, which appears to be overheating as it is. this should rectify your issue

SOURCE: Water dispenser slow flow after filter change

I had the same problem when switching to Pur filters. There are two curved wedges inside the end that hold the filter away from its connection. It turned out that they were just a little to short, putting the end of the filter to close to the connection, and that's all it took to restrict the water flow. I went to the hardware store and found a thin plastic washer that would add some space (it was for a faucet diverter of some kind, thinner than a dime). It added just enough space for good water flow. Another benefit was it helped stop the icemaker line from freezing. A simpler solution might be to make sure to get factory-original filters.

Filter for UltraEase water filtration system?

This may not be the problem now but by the sound of the malfunctioning water lines etc., it could be in the future. The start device on some models of refridgerator for maytag and whirlpool have been recalled. If your appliance was manufactured in the last 5-10 years you may be having an issue with this component. Mine recently caught on fire at this device that is located near the compressor. If you would like to be a part of the petition for a recall on this appliance contact me at jboooor@hotmail.com

Fridge water filter replaced now flows very, very slow

Hi .. first I would try and eliminate the filter as the problem. Remove the filter and try the water again. If the water flows strong, then the filter is the problem. If the water stills sputters and is low flow, then there is a partial blockage in the internal tubing , or a problem with the supply. If you roll the fridge out to get at the suppl. you could shut it off and disconnect the supply tube from the fridge, then turn the water on slowly to check the flow at the supply. If the flow is good there , then the blockage is internal.

Kitchen Aid Fridge KSRIZ6DSALYO Water no longer dispensing from door. Can a filter get too old and get clogged or should Iook at something else?

the filter can become clogged and restrict the water flow to the water dispenser and icemaker (i.e. water dispenses slow or small/hollow ice cubes). if the filter doesn't fix it then you either have a water supply problem or a faulty water valve. take the filter out and see if the water pressure increases out of the dispenser. if it does, you know its the filter. hope this helps.

Whirlpool ultraease refrigerator (ED7FHG) making water sounds, and drips water onto steel pan in bottom rear of freezer side. Purchased new. This is an obvious change. Problem?

You have a water leak somewhere (I'm assuming this water sound is constant). If not write me back for other possible solutions.

The only place water comes into the freezer is for an ice maker or a door water dispenser. Check around the ice maker for a leak. If there is a water dispenser in the door then check the piping to it also.

There is a drain in the bottom of the freezer compartment which is there so when the frost is melted by the defrost heaters, it has somewhere to go. This drain drains into the "drip pan" (or condensate pan) in the bottom of the unit. Here the water will sit until it is evaporated into the air.

If this helps you, please select YES to the first two ratings questions. Thank you, and Good Luck.

How to increase the water flow from water dispencer on a FLSC238DSO when getting water it takes for ever to fill a glass

If your fridge has a water filter, you should change it every 3 months. An old filter can cause slow flow problems.

But it will never come out as fast as the kitchen sink. Depending on the location of your fridge, you have 10 to 25 feet of 1/4" pipe between your water glass and the high-flow plumbing, and water just won't move very fast through that.

"pipe hammer" from water line to in door ice/water dispenser

try to turn down the valve that feeds your refrigerator water inlet to see if that can help. It's most likely that you have too much water pressure feeding the unit and the valve is having a hard time closing off the flow of water. Good luck and have a Happy New Year.
