Question about Toshiba 51H93 51" Rear Projection HDTV
I have a 5 yr old rear projection tv that turned green. like most males reaction is to repair it by hitting it, it would turn normal but i know this will problably damage it further.is problem a costly repair or can a fairly mechanicly inclined handyman fix it?or is the repair not worth it and i should prepare to buy a new one/\?
The problem is most likely the crt tubes . There are three.
red green and blue. one of the tubes is bad cost of tubes are around 200.00. plus labor cost is 500.00 if you had it done,
I f you feel mechanical you could do it but it is trickey To start you have to remove back cover look in side you will see the tubes four screws hold them in lots of plugs
to disconnect . If you feel you can do it at least buy looking at it you will know, But before you start first see if tubes are aviable.Call toshiba or try on line first www.part store.com
good luck doctor video please be careful the tube. hold a charge and you could get shocked.
