I have just purchased a used 2 1/2 HP Craftsman table saw Mod.13-221940 and it is missing a part. The part is the bolt that holds the safety guard in place. It is a machine thread and is about 2" in length.
Can I order the part from you or should I just go to Lowes and try to match up the bolt ?
Please advise !

Use the first part of the model number to fid who the manufacture of the saw/ motor is. Example: 110.123456- 110 is Whilpool. Then cal the manufacture direct.
Take off your chain guard, should be 2 bolts holding the chain bar in place. Then make sure there isnt another bolt or screw you missed, pop off cover put chain on, replace chain guard and tighten chain. It should be that simple
first unplug the tool, raise the head and loosen the bolt that holds the lower guard in place. DO NOT disassemble the lower guard, pull it down and it will move out of the way somewhat. Next there is a spindle lock that you push in rotate the blade until locked and hold it while removing the hex bolt, which should be left hand thread, I would use a pair of gloves when holding the blade just for safety. Remove the outer flange and spacer (if needed) reassemble in the opposite order and before trying rotate the new blade by hand to make sure turns freely. Let me know if you need more assistance.
I'm assuming your saw is a model 351.228040 or a 351.228020. Manual is here. See page 18, Figure 7 for the Blade drive exploded diagram. Sears doesn't appear to have a part number for the fan and fan guard.
It looks like you can replace the entire motor and key for $217.55 (as of 6/13/2010) which isn't too bad for a 3 HP motor. Part number is 15094.00 and clicking it will link you to their parts site.

I couldn't find that model Sears saw to confirm, but if yours is like mine (113.298720), then the handle on the right causes the saw trunion to swivel left and right. And there is a locking hex-head bolt on the front of the saw up close to the underside of the table. This bolt locks the trunion in place keeping it from swivelling.
Take a look at the following diagram
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/showSubComp.pd?imageUrl=http://c.searspartsdirect.com/lis_png/PLDM/P0908018-00004.png
part 22 is the shaft that tilts the blade
Part 30 is the bolt that locks it in place
part 29 is the handle
part 28 is the spring that holds the handle on the locking bolt
all the manual says is to insert the elbow onto the tube coming from motor and then install bag onto the elbow and for maximum performance empty the bag before it gets half full. On most table saws that I work on there is no fan or anything like that to force the dust away from unit, the best way is to run a shop vac and connect to the elbow for mazimum dust removal.
My 10" Craftsman saw started life with a 1 hp motor. I'm on number 3 motor which is 1 1/2 or 2 hp. 1 hp seems to weak. The pulley diameter is about 2". The motor needs to rotate as the blade is moved from vertical. Mine is mounted to back of the blade arbor. The mounts needs to be adjustable for adjusting tension to the belt. McMaster Carr would have the start of a motor and base.
