Fast and easy method is to get setup disk internet service provider, check device manager > network adapters, control panel network connections, configure LAN/wireless router.

SOURCE: My acer laptop cannot conect to wireless networks

This many not help because we were trying to connect to our home network which is secure and it kept failing. We finally found if we went into the Manage Wireless Networks and double-clicked on the network name to bring up properties and then went to the security tab and found that the security type was set to open instead of shared. We set this to shared and then it worked. Check yours and if it is set to shared maybe you need to set it to open to get it to work with unsecure networks.

My acer 3680 is not detecting my wiresless router connection and I can not get online. I know the router works. How do I set it up to get the connection.

you can configure the wireless settings of your router first by going into it's GUI. to go there just open your command prompt and type in ipconfig/all, then look for Default Gateway. open an internet exlporer or any browser and type in the numbers you found in the default gateway in the address bar. when you're done configuring the wireless settings of your router you can now try and connect to your wireless network...

hope this helps....

Wireless internet on laptop

You need an external WIRELESS ROUTER or MODEM ( provided by AT&T ). After this AT&T router configuration you needs to do configuration at your laptop using CONNECTION SETUP wizard for Wireless Networks & Devices.
Then you can set IP addresses & then you will be connected to it. I hope above steps will help you.

Internet access problem with a Linksys 54g router

Try setting the default gateway on the laptop to the ip address of your ICS gateway machine. Some routers separate the wireless and LAN connections on different subnets.

Try comparing your laptops ip information with that of one of the working wired computers. You can do this by going to Start up to run and type cmd then click "ok"

At the black prompt screen type "ipconfig" without the "".

You want to compare the IP Address, Submet Mask, and Default Gateway.

If one has an ip of 192.168.1.* and the other has 192.168.0.* then the wireless and wired are on seperate networks.

If the subnet masks are something like 255.255.255.0 and 255.255.255.1 they are on seperate subnets. Both should be fixable by putting in the same default gateway.

For example if your ICS gateway is 192.168.1.1 then set that as the default gatway on the wireless laptop. This can be done by going to start >> Control Panel >> Network Connections then right click your wireless connection and goto properties then double click on the "Internet Protocol (tcp/ip)" option. This will list all of your ip information (if its static) if its dynamic (ip gotten from router) you can still click "Use the following DNS server address" and set preffered dns to the gateway ICS ip. Or click "Advanced" and click Add under Default Gateways and add the gateway ICS ip there.
