Pixelated screen on sanyo plvz2

Went to watch a movie tonight and I can't get a picture. The image on screen looks like muti-colored pixels and that's all. I am running a DVI cable from my Samsung DVD player to the projector. The projector works fine if I send signal through video cable from VCR. Help!

Hi focushere

This could only be one of two things - either the cable that will need replacement or the Mainboard of the Projector.

Try using a different cable first , in other words a new DVI cable.

If this doesn't fix the problem ( which I'm sure is going to ) you will have to get the Mainboard repaired at a Service Provider.

I have a problem with the picture on my Infocus IN1501. It has small squares on it and I see every pixel. How do I remove this?

Generally the screen is full of pixels, and thats a good thing.
It's a problem when you see the pixels that should be off, and don't see them when they should be visible.

So I presume that your pixel problem may be the first type where they appear when they should be hidden.

Now it would be good to know if the bad pixels are all one colour, or if you have chromatic pixelation problems.

Monochrome pixel problems are better than chromatic pixel problems. But alas all pixel problems come back to the DMD or the colour wheel.

Either way your machine is basically compost material for the garbage shredder, unless you want to pay big money to replace the faulty bits.

Ask the local serviceman or servicewoman to give you a quote to look inside the unit and see where the pixels have gone astray.

Sir, its white small dots on complete screen, like sky with stars,

Place a white piece of paper about 1000mm in front of the screen and focus the image sharply.
Choose menu, image, advanced then select color manager.
go through the color options and check if some pixels are permanently on or off (ie small dots or black) instead of a uniform colour on the screen.

The DLP chip is most likely the faulty component

Sharp XG-P25X Projector

Hi Garrett Use this sequence initially.Try turning the projector and source machine off. Turn source machine on. Turn projector on. I can not recall without checking the manual but look for the menu where you can set the source resolution. Some projectors allow quite comprehensive selection and others very limited to zero choice.
This is not a lamp issue, but the digital signal processing.
Typically the Pixel Map processor is not processing the pixel coming in to be mapped to the correct pixel on the display block.
If a digital problem in could either be a circuit malfunction or software (IC rom issue) which really you will need to take to a local authorised service shop.
Re your XG-PG25X We are able to supply replacement lamp delivered next time you need one, as we ship internationally and also the same with our revolutionary ICE Digital Daytime projection screens. Cost $US339. includes freight. Excludes any local taxes.

Sounds like the LCD inside is dying and you're losing pixels. Bummer.

ive got the same problem if showing a white background. i can see parts that are a bit purple...
when i got a new lamp today the problem is not as intense anymore. when i looked at the lamp i was able to see some dirt that had been burned into the glas in front of the bulb. it had approximately the same color. since i just bought a bulb and installed it into the case of the first lamp, which doesnt have that color burned into the glas, the problem is way smaller than before.

im not sure if thats the reason - but might be a solution...

Image looks like it has graph paper in the background

If it looks like a VERY tiny grid then that's an effect called "screen door." It tends to mainly plague LCD-type projectors and is a bit evident with DLP-type projectors. Unfortunately there is no fix for this issue.
