Hi,

I believe the problem will be a bad control circuit in the TV. The only way to know for sure what is causing the problem, which parts that are no longer within factory specs and for proper repair all the electronics must be diagnosed by someone with the correct electronic test equipment and the skills to use the test equipment.

If you have electronics repair experience, could read schematics and would be able to take all precautions, revert and i would be able to tell you where you could purchase service manual and would provide you few pointers that would help you to resolve the problem.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Hi,

There are only two possible reason hardware failure or

hardware settings .

Your hardware can be found here :

Vizio 3637-0042-0395

http://www.encompassparts.com/products/?3637-0042-0395#

It could be from Regulator Circuits or from the

IC s itself,

Another alternative is to use a separate tuner, like

a set top box or from a VCR , and use your TV as a monitor

by connecting cables for Audio and Video IN.

Hi, well First you must check to see if the antenna system is 100% A OK. As if this isn't then there is no way for the set to acquire a signal.
Now if you have checked it all out, and all is OK, that's the Plug, (make sure it is making good contact in the female socket) the Signal Amplifier, the Cable and the Antenna itself, the best way to check, is to try another unit on that antenna, or conversely, try your set on another antenna. So if you find you DO have a signal and it is all OK, then most likely your set has a Power Supply problem to the Tuner, or the Tuner is faulty. Either way you need to have this unit looked at by a professional, as most likely again, if it is the Tuner it will have to be replaced and then all re-set up again.
Should you wish to DIY, I have included all manuals for your convenience.

pctechsva.com/Documents/VIZIO_VX37L%20HDTV.pdf -
Above is a copy of your service and repair manual, below is your user manual, BOTH are critical. If you wish to DIY. http://www.retrevo.com/support/Vizio-VX37L-TVs-manual/id/3068ag225/t/2/

Use these manuals to troubleshoot and isolate your issue, with a view to a repair. In any even, if you download and print these manuals out, and give them to the service people, this will only aid in the speed up of the repairs.

1-800-638-3328 Its the board that has your tuner and AV/ jacks on.

Does it still receive analog channels then? So when you manually try to go to channel "45" for example, what does it do?

Thanks, let me know and I can help

Can you manually input a channel? Does channel up / down work via the button the TV?

    Thanks
    Tim

  • rcmia Sep 17, 2010

You don't know where the TV is? That will make it very difficult to fix. It sounds like the remote itself may be the problem...

  • rcmia Sep 17, 2010

yes I know where tv is, it is at my business and I am at home at this moment. I dont think it is the remote because when I brought my remote home it works perfectly on my 42" vizio(channel up and down included)

  • Tim Grayson
    Tim Grayson Sep 17, 2010

Ah ok, that's a good test, and if it works at your home then you are correct, it is not the remote. However it may be the remote receiver on the TV that has the issue. If you are able to change channels up and down on the TV itself, but not the remote this would definitely indicate the remote receiver is having some problems. It may not be the only problems though... if it unable to change channels to a digital channel manually, then there is some kind of hardware failure going on inside this TV. It is very cost prohibitive to repair a TV like this one...

Let me know what you find..
    Tim

  • rcmia Sep 17, 2010

I dont think it could be remote reciever as all other function on remote wirk fine. I would like to find out if it is the tuner board or something like that. Some of those parts like tuner board are available used on ebay at a very reasonable price.

It probably is the tuner board having problems, and you can replace that and it should be able to receive the digital channels again. If you are extremely technical and feel comfortable taking apart a TV and re-soldering things I would suggest you go ahead and get a tuner board and replace it.

Have a Vizio VX37L that when it is turned the

HERE'S THE FIX: I just went through this with my Vizio VX37L. TV is stuck in RGB input. This is the fix.... TV is stuck in RGB input.
(option 1) Power on TV, and press the INPUT button repeatedly and rapidly until you can change to a different input, such as AV.
If that doesn't work, try:
(option 2) With the TV off, press and hold the INPUT button on the side of the TV for about 5 seconds. The TV should power on and the input list will appear. The TV will no longer be locked, and the INPUT button should function properly after that.

Option 2 worked for me!

Sudden no signal on digital channels on a Vizio VX37L

That may not be correct. You would not lose all your digital channels. Vizio has an un-addressed problem with losing digital stations. Multiple threads are posted due to this problem, which is why I am on this site. I have lost all digital stations on CATV connection. The Toshiba set in the next room is getting over 150 DTV channels, the Vizio, only analog. Zero Digital.
