Question about Casio Exilim EX-Z40 Digital Camera
Turn on camera -
Monitor shows date, time etc in words but display is black, no image appears. If you try to record a photo it is also black. Shutter is open.
This symptom may occur in cameras with an optical viewfinder. These cameras have a power save feature that turns OFF the display after about 2 seconds. Simply press the DISP button to cycle this mode OFF or ON.
If that doesn't help, then most likely it is a faulty CCD sensor. If it is under warranty, its best to get it replaced. You will have to get the camera serviced if it is not under warranty.
