Oven preheated but when I put the cookies in, everything was blank - no response. Electricity and propane work on other appliances.

I have no power for the oven at all.

  • Anonymous Sep 17, 2010

The electricity on the range is not working, though it is everywhere else. Did light pilot on stove by match. Didn't impact anything else and I have people coming over for dinner tonight! Thanks

None of the electricity on Kenmore 790 is working; switch panel is fine, elec. everywhere else is fine. Manually lit the pilot light so I can cook on the range. Nothing functions on the panel. Thanks I have a dinner party coming over tonight.

Thanks for your input. Again, switched at the fuse box and no response. This range is brand new - installed this past July. Plugged in at the back. Any other ideas? Clare

we were able to light the stove manually with a match and have 60 gallons of gas at this point. I've altered tonight's party menu to be prepared on the stove and am running over to use a friend's oven for the rest.

Check the breaker panel. See if the oven tripped a breaker.

Hello,

Check to see if power is getting to the range/oven. Does anything turn o, -even a light? If not, check for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker. Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the range/oven, gets burned and so breaks the connection. Then you may have to replace the power cord to the range/oven, and the terminal block that the wire is attached to.

Take care.

    Hello,

I think you may have run out of gas, since the pilot did not work while trying to use match, it is possible the gas is not supplying or you have run out of gas, you will need to check the valve to ensure there are no blockage incase you have not run out of gas, the problem could be blockage on the hose .

Kenmore gas range slow to preheat, takes 1 hour to get to temp.

There are several potential causes for a gas range being slow to preheat. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check the igniter: While the igniter may be coming on, it may not be getting hot enough to ignite the gas. Make sure the igniter is clean and free from any debris or corrosion. If it is dirty, gently clean it with a soft cloth. If the igniter is damaged or not getting hot enough, it may need to be replaced.
  2. Check the gas supply: Make sure that the gas supply is turned on and that the gas pressure is sufficient. If the gas pressure is too low, the oven may take longer to preheat.
  3. Check the oven temperature sensor: A faulty temperature sensor can cause the oven to take longer to preheat. Use a multimeter to test the sensor for continuity. If it is not working properly, it may need to be replaced.
  4. Check the oven door seal: A faulty oven door seal can cause heat to escape, making it difficult for the oven to reach the desired temperature. Inspect the seal for any cracks or gaps, and replace it if necessary.
  5. Check the oven igniter safety valve: The igniter safety valve is responsible for regulating the flow of gas to the oven. If it is faulty, it may be restricting the flow of gas, causing the oven to take longer to preheat.
If you are uncomfortable performing any of these troubleshooting steps yourself, it is best to contact a qualified appliance repair technician for assistance.

Propane stove oven producing strong smell on preheat only. Tech replaced igniter - problem persists. other appliances are ok. GE Profile model JGBP86.

What kind of smell? Propane companies add an egg like smell on the bottom of the tanks so you know you are close to empty. Check your tank if it is full.

Whirlpool gold oven

One must preheat the oven to the desired baking temperature. If the oven is turned on and the food immediately put in to bake, it will take longer to bake the first batch than the second and subsequent batches, because the oven need a few minutes to heat up.

In other words, the oven isn't at 350 degrees the instant you turn it on. It takes about 15 minutes for the oven to reach 350 degrees. I hope this helps.

Black smoke coming from oven while preheating

If you are getting soot residue, it could be a number of things, First, is this a natural gas or propane oven? If you bought an oven to be used for propane, it may need to be converted from natural gas to propane or it will soot everything up. 2nd, have you recently spilled food/liquid onto the oven burner? If the burner holes are partially plugged, the remaining holes will burn large yellow flames and soot up the oven. Check the burner flames, they should be mostly blue with little to no yellow tips. Also make sure the oven burner flames are not too big. They should never exceed the width of the flame spreader pan directly above the burner, in fact they should be less than half the width. You could also have other issues like improper air shutter adjustment to the oven burner or very low regulator pressure, but most likely it has just been spilled on recently.

I need a Rival Cookie Factory manual.

What are the directions to use the Rival Cookie Factory?
Plug in the cookie factory. A light should come on and it should start heating up. Preheat, closed, for 5 minutes. Leave the cookie pans on the table so you can load them up with some dough. After 5 minutes, open the press and put one of the cookie pans loaded with dough into the press. Let it cook for 5 minutes. Check cookies after 5 minutes. Cookie time varies with each type of cookie. Cooks slower than an oven...which is good. less likely to burn.

Gas smell coming from oven during preheat. once oven is warmed up, smell goes away. I have a Frigidaire FGF366EBC S/N VF6289284.What would cause this?

Typically, all gas operated appliances will get a "gas smell" from time to time. What you're really smelling is the odorant (rotten egg smell) that is added into both propane and natural gas, as these gases have no smell by themselves.

The smell will vary from normal to very strong as the "receipe" for how much ordorant is added into either your propane tanks or the gas supplied to your home. Typically, when tanks start getting low, the smell is more concentrated, while with piped natural gas, the smell can be very strong at different times, based on how and when the gas company adds odorant into the main supply lines.

Usually when a gas appliance is first turned on, the smell can be rather strong, until the gas ignites. So long as your oven is lighting properly, there is nothing to worry about.

However, if you're hearing a rather loud "whoosh" sound as the oven lights, it could be that your ignitor is getting weak and might need to be replaced. If you've got a weak ignitor, it could be allowing a little bit too much gas to build up in the oven compartment before it lights, hence the reason you're smelling the gas.

You can check for a weak ignitor by simply watching the oven when you start it, if the gas lights quickly, once the ignitor is glowing brightly and you've heard the "click" of the gas valve opening (in the oven), then everything is fine.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

75585891 gas range will not preheat oven. Everything seems to work. but oven will not show that it is preheated.

If I understand it is working just no lighting the preheat lamp? May just be a burned out lamp. Connect a jumper from any of the other indicators to the preheat. If it lights there is a problem in the oven control/thermostat. If it does not light when the other lamp you connected to it lights, it is the lamp.

My control panel for the oven does not work(press buttons w/ no response

If the LED display is blank, then you have a power problem. first make sure there is power to the appliance. If you can determine this, then check the transformer on the control module. All these things require some familiarity with electronics and electricity. Depending on you is how to handle this.
