Check in your control panel , device manager and see if you are missing the driver for the cam, if you are then try to update it, failing that got to the manufacturers website and look for the correct driver. other than that purchase one of the many driver update/download programs.

what is the brand and model of your webcam? maybe on the cd installer is the problem or on your optical drive>.. try to copy the installer first to the flashdrive then install the driver using usb flashdrive. if not install again>>> check the device manager if the webcam is already detect>>> if it is detected>>> try to update the driver>>>
