Can't get the built in webcam to work on my computer

well....the Webcam has it's own connection to the PC, (typically a USB cable,) but the sound will come out of your speakers.....so if you have your speakers built into your monitor, then yes, there needs to be a 2nd cable from the monitor to the back of the PC. It should have a headphone jack at each end; there will be only one place on the monitor it will fit. On the back of the PC, there should be a small round pale-green connection to plug-in near the USB ports, (unless you have added your own separate sound card, then it should go there.)

If the video is not working, then check if it is plugged into the EXACT same USB port. You do not note what OS you're using....but usually I recommend a device be removed from the device manager, then rebooted several times before attempting to re-install it.

My PC has two USB controllers. How can I access the second one?

click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers you could see a yellow question / exclamation mark? ! or a red X

you will need to update/reinstall drivers

right click to reinstall drivers
if all are intact

you might purchase a usb 2 or 3card they almost install themselves and a very cheap on Ebay or

purchase a usb 4 or 5 port hub if you already have one
think about fixing the sound insteab of us

click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll to sound video and game controllers you might see a yellow question exclamation mark? ! or a red X Right click to
reinstall drivers

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it

click start control panel sounds and audio volume advanced speakers make sure you have selected the

(appropriate speakers) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there

click start control panel sounds and audio devices select advanced there might be a tick in the mute box untick it

if his does not fix the problem

click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker

volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar for any

further volume control settings you will need to right click on the speaker volume icon system select adjust volume

click start control panel sounds and audio volume advanced speakers select the appropriate speakers

from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand system

speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check

the speaker plug/outlets is usually at the back of the computer or if its a laptop on the side

you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make

sure the connection is good with no dust as dust causes static electricity

clean your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is

no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit

dust causes static to build up in a computer

hope this helps

I recently bought a 4Gb USB stick and initially it seemed to work fine. However, one day when I plugged it into my laptop, when I tried to access it, it came up saying following errors, Errors : 1)I cannot...

You do not need any drivers in windows for these drives if you are using XP/Vista. These are generic volumes. Try deleting any mention of the driver in device manager and let windows install it automatically. This sounds a lot more that your pen drive is dead. Time for a new one. Can you borrow a friends and plug it in to test the USB port is ok?

How to insatall a web cam in to the pc

If you have already plugged the USB device into the system before loading the driver, Windows will install a driver for you call “unknown device”. The steps to fix this are to plug the USB device into the computer, then click <Start> <Control Panel> then go into <system>. In there you will need to find the device manager under the hardware tab. When you are in the device manager, you will see a list of all of the hardware install in the computer. Most of them will have the + in front of them showing all is good. There should be one that stands out and most likely, this will be your USB device. At this point you will want to right click the USB device and click remove. Unplug the USB device from you system and reinstall the software. If the software is already install in the system you may be able to just plug the USB device back into the system and it will find the driver.
