my heater was bought as a retirment present from Homebase and is the Arizona model made by an Italian company TMC. The pilot light works and lights up the burner but on release, everything goes out. Homebase tell me that they cannot get parts for it. I would love to find a repair man to visit or i will take it anywhere to get it repaired. I live in Market Harborough, Leicestershire

Most likely the regulator is bad. The second culprit could be the thermocouple.

Kirkland outdoor heater will not stay lit

The thermocouple is bad. That is the part right next to the pilot light that sense's the flame and hold the gas valve open to the pilot. Take the old thermocouple off and go to hard ware store and get a 18" one of what ever length you need and replace. 5 dollar part.

Windchaser patio heater

You have to hold the button down for 30 seconds at least before turning the knob to ON. If you are doing this and it still goes out after you let up on the knob, then it needs a new flame sensor, or thermocouple. Same thing different names.
