Right-click Computer in the Start menu, choose Properties, and click the Advanced System Setting link. Then, navigate to the Hardware tab and click the Device Manager button. You'll notice orange "bangs" next to all the devices that Vista doesn't immediately support. But fear not, Windows Update is now a great place to get drivers. Assuming that Vista has detected one of your network connections, run Windows Update (it's in the Start menu) and check for any drivers available for your system. Install all the drivers that Windows Update finds and reboot as necessary. When those drivers are up and running, check Device Manager again. If you still see unsupported devices then right click them one at a time and choose properties, then click the details tab, you will be shown a VEN (vendor) number and a DEV (device) number. Write these down and go to http://www.pcidatabase.com where you can enter the VEN and DEV numbers to look up who made the device, what the model number is, and where to get the drivers. Good luck!

Check Windows Sound mixer for application volume. Down in system tray at right side of taskbar double click sound icon for XP or click sound icon once and click Mixer for Vista. Look through volume settings for your phone application. Make sure it is not muted and volume is up.

Win vista uninstall

Put your window XP disk into the Disk drive. Start up your computer. When it asks you what Drive you want to install it on select C:\ (where Vista is) Say yes to deleting the current Operating System and follow the instructions from there.

You did say you wanted to Uninstall Vista!

If you mean Dual Boot Vista and XP, then you will need to create a Logical Partition of about 10 Gb to install XP on and when asked where to install select this partition. But note that XP will wipe the Boot sector clean of all other Operating Systems which means that if you want to Dual boot then you will have to reinstall Vista again to get Dual Boot functionality.
