If my TV just quit working and for no obvious reason , does the indicator light that blinks four times repeatedly mean anything

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices.

Maytag model mfc2061kes just stopped working. The control panel just blinks 888 when we try to reset it. We unplugged it and cleaned out all the dust, plugged it back in and nothing is on the display panel.

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.

Sounds like the cold control has stuck . Unplug the two wires from the cold control and plug them together. Turn one wire over and plug it into the other. away from the cold control.
The cold control is the knob in the ref that turns it on and off and has numbers on it. (Thermostat)
If it runs then that cold control (Thernostat) is the problem.
If that doesn't work DO THIS:
The relay on the compressor may need replaced
A relay starts the compressor with a higher voltage and then quickly kicks out
Thats what is happening with yours
Its best for a tech to replace The relay but you can do it
Take your model number to your Local Appliance parts store they will have a diagram
showing you how to install the relay. Its called a hard start relay
also try hooking the two wires together on the cold control to route around the cold control.

Red light blinking with audible alarm. Compressor

That is the compressor starting relay trying to start the cooling cycle and the overload protector kicking off. You can try installing a new start device for about $50.00 but you are most likely looking at a compressor replacement which runs about $400.00

Sorry for the bad news

My freezer quit working. It is four years old and this is the first time I have had trouble with it. My frezer makes no noise when I plug it into the outlet. I did try to use another outlet with no luck.

See if you can spot any fuses in the back by the compressor. it may also be a relay switch by the compressor. You can also tap the compressor and see if it stuck and last, the therostat may have stuck on you. If you take it out and just coss the wires to each other then if it is that the compressr ill kick on. You can't leave it like that though. You will have to get another one. Be sure you have it Unplugged when crossing the wires and then plug it in after they are tied together. I think its low voltage going to the thermostat but you want to be caustious.
Please be kind and leave me a thumbs up for my effort. I am doing my best to save you some serious serve call cash. The Raz Shack

Freezer says "of" on display

I assume that stands for off... there are 2 parts that affect compressor operation...
t'stat
timer
t'sat could keep the compressor from running if it is bad. to check unplug freezer. . get to t'sat and take the 2 wires off it. then jump them together.. plug back in if the compressor kicks on he replace t'sat if it dont replace timer (timer maybe stuck in defrost)

jope this was helpful
